I am planning a trip for 22 next December (2003). Does anyone know of any places that might give discounts for a group this large? Dare I ask if Disney might have group rates? Any help would be appreciated!

Most hotels and tour operators deem a group to be a reservation of 10 or more ROOMS with 2 people PER ROOM (20 people). Some hotels and tour operators have numbers as high as 15-20 ROOMS for a group rate. I would call Disney direct and see what their policy is. I do know that USAir could give you a group rate on the airfare based on 20 seats sold out of the SAME city. Good luck.

Years ago I was planning a trip with several families and we called CRO and asked to speak to a person for group trip planning we were given a group package but it really was not any bettr than what we could have gotten individually. My DD HS went on a package with Educational Travel and the package they recieved was much better than what I got but they went to the ASSp

I'd ask a TA, because they, through their sales reps, can sometimes get a better group offering than doing it yourself. Of course I'd first see if you can get a discounted rate on the Disney Resort yourself as a comparison. With that many people imho it's better to put the TA in the hot seat with one person as the main contact, but anyone can call the TA with questions. To get a group rate the rooms and tickets will need to be booked together. When I was a TA I did a group res for a family - 5 rooms at Carib. Bch., 2 vans for transfers, discounted air and drink coupons. The person in charge of the family had her hands full enough without booking and later reconfirming these arrangements and many times expressed appreciation for the pressure I took off her with all the questions and requests. Do a little research then go to a TA. If your prices are better and you want to be in the hot seat - go for it.
