Somehow, I just don't get an animal not seeing his shadow because there's an ice storm as an indicator of an early spring.

Somehow, I just don't get an animal not seeing his shadow because there's an ice storm as an indicator of an early spring.

Are you of German/PA Dutch ancestry? For some of us Pennsylvanians it's something that goes back to our roots overseas.

yeah, got the german going on, but I'm still shaking my head, lol. You would think a sunny day would fortell an early spring.

Truth be told, the groundhog doesn't know much of anything, as his success rate is not very good.

Doesn't mean we can't all get excited and party with the other Dutchies every 2/2!!

Some people say he's afraid of the shadow so he goes back in. Others say he's lazy, so a nice, sunny day, is perfect for a nap...a nap that ends up lasting an extra 6 weeks.
