Ground Beef Sold At Kroger Recalled
SHARONVILLE, Ohio -- A company is recalling about 106,000 pounds of ground beef sold in North Carolina and 10 other states because of possible E-coli contamination.
American Foods Group says none of the beef is currently in stores. The recall affects ground beef produced at the company's Sharonville plant on Jan. 24.
It was sold in Kroger stores in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia; and Meijer stores in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky.
The company says the Kroger beef was sold in trays and as hamburger patties. It has code numbers 3024 and 3025 below the store logo. The Meijer brand ground chuck was sold in 1-pound trays and has code number 3024 below the UPC bar code.
Customers can return the recalled beef to the store where it was bought for a refund.
American Foods has set up a customer hotline at 1-800-829-2838.
