Groucho is featured in the "Flights of Wonder" show at Animal Kingdom. If you've never seen him, go to YouTube and search for "Groucho the Singing Parrot."

I was wondering if anyone knew how many songs he sings now, and what they are. It seems as though "How Much Is that Doggie in the Window" is one of his "favorites."

If you've never seen Groucho...he (alone) is worth the 30 minutes worth of FoW! (And there are other great birds there too!)

One of the funniest YouTube clips I found was of Groucho singing "Alouette."

The humor here, of course, is that "Alouette" is a french song about plucking the feathers out of a bird.

I think he's still at the seven songs. He does "Camptown Races" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy" too.

Remember that he's not actually "singing". Parrots don't "talk" or "sing". They are just mimicking what they hear humans do.

That is just one of the things you will see and learn about at Flights of Wonder. It's a must see for us at Animal Kingdom.

Yes... I realize that he doesn't actually have comprehension of what he's singing/saying... just making noises. But we can all call it "singing" if we want! :)

Do you know what the other 3 songs are? Those are the 4 that I found on YouTube.

Does anyone else have an opinion on his "favorite"? (Yes... I realize, this could become a philosophical debate on animals and their ability to feel/think vs. responding to stimuli...) From the YouTube videos, it seems as though "Doggie in the Window" comes up frequently...

Can't recall the others, but last time we saw the show he did Doggie in the Window and Yankee Doodle. He is pretty cool...and a beautiful bird! That show is underrated. We always try to see it when we go.

As I was thinking about this today, I realized that we hadn't actually planned to go in the show, but had extra time, and happened to be walking by just as the show was getting ready to start. I'm so glad that we went in... great memories of those birds (and trainers).

That's exactly how I "stumbled" onto the show too! I was walking by and it was just starting for I figured "what the heck?". Brought my husband on the next trip and it's been a "must see" for us since then. Even my grumpy old dad thought it was "neat".
