Grosvenor

We stayed there (first time off-site) in Nov 2001, when they had a terrific rate of $39/night for a tower room after 9/11. Disney didn't have any specials! Allowed us to get a short trip in. We found the Grosvenor to be quiet and clean.. most important for us! It wasn't beautiful or themed, but it was okay for the money. Did not spend any time at the pool.
Transportation was just okay... not as frequent and much more crowded than on -site ( and this was right after 9/11!)

We would stay there again if the price was right

My wife and I stayed in the Grosvenor in September of 2001. We paid $31 per night for 2 nights from priceline. We stayed in the outside "wing" section. Both of us found the rooms to be a little dated but clean and very adequate. Overall I think it was a great value at that price. The location is excellent and the staff was very friendly.

I was there in September 2002 with my mom and sister (girls trip). The walking distance to Downtown Disney was WONDERFUL. Our room, however left MUCH to be desired. We had a wall sconce that was hanging by the cord, there was a hole in the wall, and housekeeping was a little stingy with the towels. That said, the staff was wonderful, the price was right (we paid $313 each for roundtrip airfair from Detroit and 4 night stay) and we had an amazing time (we were never in our rooms - ONLY to sleep, we were always at the parks).

I would do it again for a similar price (on another mom/daughter trip - with my family I want to stay on-site).
