Groom & Mother Dance?

I was going to suggest "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon.... I sang that to my children

Did he ask his Mom if she had a special song she wanted?

My sister is a huge James Taylor fan so at my nephew's wedding, they danced to "You've Got a Friend." When my niece married, she and her husband had been together on and off since they were 14 so he's like a son to my sister. His mom died when he was about 16 so my sister danced the mother/son dance with him. They danced to "Sweet Baby James"--his name is James and my sister has always called him this. I cried my eyes out during that dance.

I didn't read the other posts (as soon as I saw this I teared up & had to post) so if this has been said please excuse. I have heard the grooms mom should pick the song (as the brides groom usually picks a song from him to her) Dh picked his song to dance with his Mom to. I always wondered if she felt she missed telling him how she felt via their song. Just my 2cents.

I agree that he should ask for his mother's input. There might be a song that is special to her for some reason.

To avoid this situation I have told DH and DS (he's currently only 5) that we will dance to Frank Sinatra's "Always" at his wedding. I guess I'm not being too subtle about this.

DH danced with his mom to "Because you Loved Me" by Celine Dion. Diane Warren wrote it in honor of her father. It seems like a sappy love song but when you read the lyrics, it really is more fitting for a parent/child relationship.

That is the one my son and I danced to at his wedding. It seemed even more so appropriate for us since during a lot of his growing up years it was just me and him.

Celine Dion has a remake of Beautiful Boy. It is so nice. I aslo like You'll be in my Heart. My DS and I love that song.

My DH & DMILO danced to "Mr.Wonderful". I have also heard "Sunrise/Sunset". Or that song "There You'll Be" from the movie "Pearl Harbor".
