Can I walk to a walgreens or grocery store to get a few breakfast items from the BCV??

Or would you suggest one of those grocery delivery services? I dont need much as I have the meal plan purchased but, need to cover breakfast when we are sick of granola bars.

There is a small store at BW which does sell some groceries.

I'm assuming bw means board walk?

Do you know of anyway to find out what they might sell or a phone number of where I can call? (look into your crystal ball!)

I just checked with one of the grocery delivery services and it is just about $100 for the few items we will be needing (milk, eggs, bread, butter etc)
I am also worried about over buying as we are flying and wont be able to take home any extra eggs etc?! which will drive me insane!

If a market is within walking where I can grab a few items here and there and save all that grocery surcharge money.....it might be pretty nice. Of course I have to make this decision ahead of time, across the country, not like I can just "check" things out!? TIA for any info! ;)

All of those things will be available at the BC store, or you can walk to the Boardwalk ( the Sceen Door General Store) and purchase them. They will have Entemanns, donuts, and quite a few options. There is also the Boardwalk bakery which carries a vast selection of breakfast goodies.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply! We fly out in a day or so and I am freaking out! So we are staying at the bcv. You are saying I can walk to the screen door general and it will have milk, bread things like that? I just want a couple breakfast items to go with the cereal and granola bars I am packing. It seems crazy to spend $100 on about 10 items if I can actually walk and grab some milk or juice. I know it wont be as cheap as my local store but $100 ???? I am sure it will be less expensive and I wont have so much excess.

Have a wonderful time---the villas are great. All you'll need to do is go into the main BC building and go to the Marketplace. They should have everything you want for breakfast. They have a decent refrigerated section, fresh fruit, all sorts of beverages, even frozen entrees. It's a mere minute walk from the BCV front entrance to the Marketplace.

Yes, if you do not find what you want at the Beach Club Market, the stores at the Board Walk are a short walk. Have a great trip, and don't worry, you will find what you need:goodvibes

The nearest store is right outside of DTD. You could catch a bus to DTD and walk down hotel blvd right across from the entrance is a grocery store. Now the walk is a pretty long haul. But it can be done, there is also Mcdonalds, Perkins, Uno Pizza and few other stores. If you go this route, stop in Perkins and get some muffins to take back to the resort, they are so yummy.

How are you getting to the resort? You could take a car service from the airport with one stop to grab what you need. My friends do this everytime the come. They were taken ME but she feels that they save money. She just makes a list and everyone know what to grab and they are in and out in 30. Where they stop is a publix, walgreens and a liquor store, so you can get what you need quickly, I know once they stopped at Walmart and could not get out in 30 so they were charge for a extra 15 mins.

I know that they have a shuttle that goes to one of the outlet mall the one across from DTD( sorry can not think of the name) and there is a Publix in the far end of the parking lot, sorta behind the old Dollywood Stampede. When some other friends went in Dec. and they did this, a couple of them walk across and grabbed what they needed. They had done the car stop but they where starting to run out of supplies. Her DH said they must have chips and beer:rotfl2:

Just to clarify, is the marketplace like a cafeteria where I get individual breakfast items or can I grab family sized things to take back to my room?

This thread has lots of photos of what you'll find at the BC Marketplace. The Screen Door General Store at the BW has many of the same items, as well.

You may also want to check out this thread for an idea of what is available at the Hess station right across the street from BW.

I thought I would update incase someone comes across this later .... The marketplace right onsite at BCV had all I needed & I was able to use my chase rewards to pay for it :)
