We are flying in and taking ME to OKW. However, I want to go to Publix and get a few items that are mandatory. Tonic water, fruit, snacks, etc.

Is it cheaper to get a car, take a cab or have items delivered?

We are so excited to be going for our first stay at OKW as DVC owners. Funny our small family trip in a studio is now 7 in two bedroom.

You forgot to tell me that when you buy a DVC you get instant friends too:rotfl: :rotfl:

We always rent a car, so popping over to the Super WalMart isn't hard for us. But if you don't want a car, and only need a few items, you might want to try either wegoshop or another delivery service.

We really like to use gardengrocer.com. However, they do have a minimum order amount of $40 and a $10 delivery charge. They will also purchase beer and other alcoholic beverages but that amount cannot be included in the $40 minimum. I really like not taking the time out of my vacation to go to the grocery store.

I just ordered from Garden Grocer and it was very easy. I love that they have pictures of everything. I figure the $10 delivery charge is cheaper than paying for a cab there and back. Now I just hope that all my groceries show up!

We found that Magic Express through free, takes forever to get to our resort. Instead we take Tiffany Town car- and they will do a free 30 minute grocery stop at Publix. Becuase they are picking up just us, we get to the resort much quicker, even with the grocery stop.

sunray transportation for our car service. Excellent prices and you get a grocery stop included in price for no extra fees. He usually takes us to Publix.

We use wegoshop every time we go. Give it a try and you'll never stop. It's so nice to have someone else do all the shopping for you. They buy exactly what you ask for and she uses coupons and splits the savings with you.
Very reliable, VERY nice and has always been on time.

We just returned from our first OKW stay. We also used ME (more on this later) and used gardengrocer. The owner of gardengrocer, Brian, was wonderful, helpful and patient while we tried to identify our beer and wine selection. All of our food was fresh and we will definitely use them again the next time we visit. I highly recommend them - and it is so nice to have all the food planning done before you go down there.

I would also like to give you a little heads up on using ME. We arrived at 2:00 p.m. on a Sunday and were totally checking into OKW by 3:15. Getting us from the airport to the resort was flawless. Our luggage, however, did not arrive in our room until after 8:00 that night. WHAT a huge bummer. ME apparently dropped our luggage off at OKW in a timely manner, but because OKW is so huge, and Sunday is one of their biggest "check in" days, they just couldn't get our lugguge to us. Luckily I had packed a carry-on with our young children's bedtime stuff, so we could at least get them to bed. But I had hoped to get all unpacked that evening, and instead never really got fully unpacked our whole stay.

Please don't misunderstand - we liked ME and will use it again. But if we were to stay at OKW again, arriving on a Friday or Sunday, we might pick our luggage up at baggage claim and bring it with us. I would definitely recommend bringing a carry on with the "bare essentials" just in case. From what I have read we are in the minority with regards to our ME experience - just thought I would pass along our experience so you can take it into considering.

Enjoy your trip - we really enjoyed OKW!
