Pretty self-explanatory. Where's the closest grocery to OKW? We'll have our own car, so that's no issue.

Thanks!

As pointed out by Brian, Goodings is closest but way overpriced. They consider themsevles a "gourmet" grocery store, I like to call them the grocery store for the rich and famous.

The closest is goodings, but it is also very expensive. I drive just a bit farther to the Winn Dixie on Apopka-Vineland to save a few bucks.

Goodings, I found to be less than clean! The Winn Dixie is in good shape but I prefer the Publix, which is a right at Crossroads and 3 or 4 miles down the road as opposed to a left for the Winn Dixie.

Winn Dixie is closest but I shop at Publix at home and it was the 3rd best ranked grocery chain in the nation.

I have gone to both Winn Dixie and Publix I have to agree with PP stay away from Goodings.

Is Publix really worth the extra distance? From OKW, Google Maps has it as 11 miles and 22 minutes away, whereas Winn Dixie is only about 4 and 9 minutes away. We'll avoid Goodings; thanks for the tip!

I think you're thinking of a different publix. The Publix to the south is probably only a few minutes farther than the Winn Dixie to the north. I found it inconvenient to get to from OKW though, because you can't get on Epcot Center Drive south from OKW conveniently---you have to sort of loop around.

I Google Mapped the one listed on the The Mouse For Less's site, which is the one at 4870 S. Apopka-Vineland Blvd. I don't see any others on Apopka-Vineland on Publix's website. Do you know what road the one you're referring to above is on? Thanks.

I shop at the Publix at 8145 Vineland. This is just off I-drive North of the Premier Outlets. I use the Publix.com site to locate and map the closest Publix to where ever I am staying. Here's the link:

Another option if you don't want to spend your time shopping is to use wegoshop.com. I emailed my shopping list from the Publix weekly sale flyer. We set up a preliminary delivery time based on my flight schedule, then confirmed when I was on property. She brought everything right to the door in great condition. She even got substitutions if the store didn't have the size/product advertised at the advertised price. The delivery fee is modest (I seem to remember around $25) and the ability to plan from the advertised specials easily saved me that amount. Hanging around the pool/hot tub at Saratoga Springs instead of driving around and shopping was great!

Thanks.I had used that same site that you posted, but I was thinking something on S. Apopka-Vineland would be closer than any stores on another road. The one on Vineland is closer, so thanks. I guess I was swayed to want to go to Publix as opposed to Winn Dixie just because BEASLYBOO said Publix was voted 3rd best grocery store chain in the US. Ultimately I doubt it matters, but it's good to have options! Thanks again, everyone!

No, but my GPS unit does. By distance, the nearest Publix is a smidge closer as it routes me. By time (or, by "feel") the Winn Dixie just seemed more convenient. I visited both on my most recent stay.

Good point. I'll just plug in the address to the Publix on Vineland and the Winn Dixie on Apopka-Vineland and let it do the work for me! The GPS is a relatively new purchase, and we sometimes forget we have it and Google Map directions we don't end up needing. Ah, the glories of technology. :)

We shopped at Winn-Dixie this last trip. Even though they have a shoppers card, they were more expensive than Publix. And it was very difficult to get out of the parking lot. I ended up making a right hand turn and doing a U-Turn up the street.

What you need is the Publix at 8145 Vineland Avenue in Lake Buena Vista.

There is a back way to Wynn Dixie, take a right out of OKW and go to the end of the road past SSR make a left and go past the WDW logistical warehouses to the end of the road and take a right and follow that (it curves around some) out to Apopka-Vineland. Then take a left and it is just a short way on the right (though I wound it a little hard to see the first time).

Thanks! I think I'm settled on the Publix on Vineland. :)

ETA: Brian Noble, it is a Garmin. Thanks for the link!

How about a Walgreens or Supertarget? Walgreens here always has the state minimum on milk plus great rates for misc items... and supertargets for dry goods good etc???

CVS Pharmacy (bought out all of the Eckerds) has the best milk prices. There is one located near the Winn Dixie, when you take the left at Cross Road. There's a Target when you head right at Cross Roads but I can't recall if it's a super Target.
