Grocery Store near Universal

Can anyone tell me the name of any grocery store that is walkable from Universal? I would like to be able to purchase some liquor & a few breakfast items for the room. How much would a taxi cost? Thanks for any info.

Where are you staying? There is the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center about 3 miles from Universal on the corner of Kirkman and Conroy. You will find a grocery store (Publix I think) and an ABC Store right next to it. Since it's on the far end of the shopping center, you might want to catch a cab...it might be a little far to walk.

I know you can walk to the Walgreens on Kirkman and Vineland - they have a liquor store attached. It takes about 15- 20 minutes of walking (not too bad though) Me and my 8 year old did it last year to pick up an emergency prescription.

We have been to that walgreens and your right its about a 15 min walk cause we stayed at the doubletree and it was just right across the parking lot and we also walked to universal several times and taxi to there shouldn't be more than $5.00 but they should have everything you need cause my DW was looking for a sun dress to go over her bathing suit and the hotel gift shop was $80.00 and walgreens had them for $9.00
