How far to the grocery from the resort? Are the prices outrageous or pretty average? I'm running out of room for packing!;)

There are quite a few grocery stores near Disney's HHI resort.

I believe the closest would be The Piggly Wiggly - not even a 5 minute drive located on the same side of the road as the resort

I'm from NJ so, the prices down south are always better than up here.

There's also a Publix up the road a bit, and a few more.

hope to have helped. Enjoy your trip.

Oh, thank you disneychic!! :D :D

(I'm just SO ready for this trip!!):D

Drive out of HH and make a left hand turn go about a 2 miles at a light make a left into a plaza and there is a liqour store Piggly Wiggly and a TJ Maxx. There are a\lso a couple of other little shops there. Piggly wiggly had a pretty good selection of everything that we needed. Good Luck!

Yep. Piggly Wiggly is the closest and reasonably priced. :)

Have fun! I just got back from HHI a week ago and I had a great time! Just be careful in regards to the hot tubs (if you're staying in a 1 or 2 BR)... You can read more if you're interested about this on the Trip Reports Board thread that I posted.

Make sure you ask the service desk or cashier for the Vacation card for the specials at Piggley Wiggley. They have a card that you must use to get the special prices on sale items. If you don't have one, you pay normal price. The card is free for the asking.

Kara, you should have read my How to Jacuzzi 101 on my web page before you went to warn you about cleaning the jacuzzi before you plan to use it.

If you are more used to an upscale store, try Harris Teeter a little futher away. You'll pass it on your way into HHI sometime after the bridge and the airport. HHI have no billboards or high signs so you will have to look for it. HT will have a large beer and wine and cheese section, A fresh sushi chef , and fresh prepared meal items, like rotis. chicken, macaroni salad, fresh cut meats, etc. It is a bit pricey. It's just like the Disney resort. Pig is moderate, HT is Deluxe. But, Pig Wig is closer and it not as dirty as most of them. It is a southern novelty. Kids love seeing Piggly Wiggly.
