we're getting a town car from the airport so are planning to do a grocery stop for milk and such but we land at 10 so may arrive before noon, if our room isn't ready will they hold our cold stuff? If not, should I get some stuff delivered? When it comes down to it (delivery fees), is it cheaper to just buy it in the gift shop? I'm going to ship down a box with cereal and snacks, we aren't on the dining plan but am trying to save as much money as possible on food.

If you room is not ready, Bell services will hold you cold groceries for you.We are planning on doing the same thing in Sept.

We do not do the dining plan, and we use a car service that offers the 30 minute stop. We're in and out in the 30 minutes, have everything we want and need. We make a list for the store and run through it. Lunchmeat, rolls, beer, pop, wine, snacks, just about anything we can desire for 9 nights. Disney has cold storage for perishables. This is a god send, shops on property are very high priced, and if we ever made it to WDW without a grocery stop we would use a delivery service. Savings are substantial.

I would love to hear more shopping lists for grocery stops! We are staying at a hotel without a 24 hour quick service, but are night owls. We also eat breakfast in the room most mornings. So we get

wine/cider (for nightcaps)
flat of water bottles
bagels and cream cheese
fruit
yogurt
crackers
pepperoni/salami
cheese
chips
cookies
rolls
lunchmeat
small condiments

The last few trips we've had a car pick us up at the airport and do the grocery stop. I always fax a shopping list the day before to the store so when I get there the full shopping cart is waiting for me. I try to be specific in brands and size i want plus note if substitutions are ok. I always think of something I need on the plane ride down so when I get to the store i only have to run around getting a few things. If your room isn't ready the Resort will accomodate checking the groceries and refrigerating the cold stuff.

Check with the car company for the fax # of the grocery store they will be stopping at. Have a great trip!

Rolls, salami, bologna, assorted cheeses, tomatoes, jarred red peppers, peanut butter crackers, doritos, potato chips, olives, assorted candies, OJ, pop, beer, wine, Jack Daniels. We really enjoy a picnic at the pool and a few drinks, nothing like coming from a park in the evening, putting on our bathing suits, grabbing a few drinks and indulging in the pool to unwind and cool off.

We usually pick up water, breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal, bagels, milk, oj, etc.), beer, wine, a few treats/sweets, and anything we realized we forgot to pack on the way down (suntan lotion, etc.). We are staying in a villa this time, so we are going to expand to egg whites, bread, lunch stuff (PB&J or turkey and cheese), and a quick run through the store to see what else, if anything, inspires us. We are not huge on cooking on vacation, but we often eat breakfast in the room and sometimes need a snack or late night meal.

Who do you use for a driver from the airport to the hotel?

I'm not allowed to allude to or post the company. We arrive via Amtrak and detrain in Kissimmee and our grocery stop is on 192 at a Publix with a liquor store next door, very quick, easy and convenient. Sorry about the car service.

Check the transportation board. We have used two that are reviewed there and we VERY pleased. Nothing like pick up at the baggage claim and drop off at the front door of the report. :thumbsup2. We felt very pampered. The car was large and comfortable.
And we had the grocery stop on the way in.
