Hi All,

We are heading over from Australia in September & was wondering as we have the grocery stop included with our DK Livery booking is there somewhere near Disneyland that sells cheap Cell Phones?

Rather than bringing our phones from home & having to buy sim cards & wondering if our phones would even work I was thinking perhaps it would be easier just to buy ourselves 2 very basic phones when we arrive just so we can contact each other if we separate in the parks etc. We are also off to Honolulu after Disney so I'd like to be able to maybe go off & do a little shopping by myself but know my husband can still contact me if the kids need me - yep I'm a worrier ;) We have never been overseas before with the kids so I'm a little bit nervous :)

Thanks so much.

There is a Von's... (Safeway) very close to D/L and a Target.. I believe both these stores pre paid cell phones.. not sure of the cost of them in Anaheim , but here in Washington you can get them as cheap as $5.00. you will also have to purchase a calling card which start at $30. I believe...

Yes, you can buy cheap prepaid phones at most Walgreens, CVS Drugs, Von's supermarkets, from retailers TracPhone, AT&T, Virgin Mobile, Net 10, etc. Target carries them too.

We bought Virgin Mobile burners from 7-11 on the corner of Harbor and Katella last year. If I remember correctly it was about $35 US for two and we bought maybe $20 of airtime. They worked very well in the parks but we found them difficult to set up (on-line wouldn't connect and we ended up spending quite a bit of time on hold to their Customer Service line from the hotel land line).

If all else fails, you can buy a cell phone (with an int'l. card included) from the Best Buy vending machines in DtD (one by WOD and one by the AMC).

The Wal-Mart on Euclid Street should have a large selection of basic prepaid phones.

Here's an idea of what they might have. Not everything will be available directly at the stores.

It looks like the have Straight Talk, T-Mobile, AT&T GoPhone, and Wal-Mart's own plan, as well as several others. A basic phone might be $20 plus a prepaid plan.

Excellent - thanks so much for the info everyone. Seems to be plenty of options, thanks again :)

We're also coming from Australia and are using DK's Livery (we've used the before, you won't be disappointed!) Have you had a look at GOSIM for your phone. You can buy them before you go so it's all set up and look to have good rates. They have one for $33 that includes a phone and credit or you can just get a sim with credit- you can get extra credit for 'liking' them on facebook. I haven't tried it yet so I can't recommend it, but I think we might give it a go.

Thankyou georgiesmum i'll have a look at that one :)
