This is the first trip we are making a grocery stop before we go to our resort. What things do you make sure you get? Water bottles, I assume......and what else?

for breakfasts we usually get cereal (little boxes or big box and plastic bowls), pop tarts, granola bars, juice boxes, bananas, fig newtons...

if you plan to pack or eat lunches in your room a loaf of bread, small jar of pb, small jar of jelly... or if you are getting a fridge, cold cuts...

if you plan to spend evening snack time in your room, pretzels, chips, cookies, soda, etc... there is a microwave in most food courts so if micro-popcorn is your thing, buy that too! also, the shelf stable cheese is good w/crackers...

we also like apples, grapes, other easy to eat fruit (ie does not need to be peeled)

you may also want to pick up some ziplock bags or garbage bags for wet stuff... any otc meds you may have forgotten... diapers if you have a little one and don't want to pack a week's worth...

hth... enjoy!

Thanks gigi1313 ! Great suggestions! I'm really hoping I don't need to pick up diapers (we are currently potty training--hope we are done by Oct.)
Hope you have a great trip too!
:D

ryansmom, you may want to consider taking "pull-ups" with you, just to be on the safe side. Sometimes, those little ones gotta go when they gotta go, and you may not be near a bathroom! Spoken by someone who dealt with a couple of "oops" even tho' we were completely potty trained!:wave2:

I would second the suggestion for a small styrofoam cooler. It is so great to come in and have cold sodas or juice boxes right there. I do not know where you are staying, but unless you plan to keep a lot of stuff we just do the cooler thing and change out the ice once a day. Keeps drinks cold and anything thing else we need and saves the $10/day for the frig.

With little ones it is always good to have something for a quick meal (PB&J did it for ours) because sometimes stopping for a meal was jsut more than they could handle. We could get back to the room give them a fast sandwich, some juice and fruitcups or applesauce and they could nap or go to bed and then DH or I would go get real food for the grownups. It was a handy alternative when they had had all they could handle.

The styrafoam coolers are less than $2.00 and a couple of cokes would more than pay for it.

We will be staying at the Poly. Supposedly all the deluxes and mods are getting refrigerators put in all their rooms over next few months. Hopefully we won't need a cooler. I assume the fridges are like dorm size.

(Disneylovers-I will have some Pull-Ups just in case. ;) )

I pack a colapsable cooler. I use to get those styro. coolers but found they sometimes leaks and waste of money.

Of course, don't forget the "adult beverages" if you want them. You can get a case of beer for only a couple dollars more than a 6-pack costs at WDW!!

But be sure and consider your touring habits before doing so.

When me and hubby went on our anniversary trip a few years ago, we picked up beer and wine coolers at our grocery stop, but forgot that we had planned that trip to sleep in till 11ish each morning and were out pretty late each evening, so we didn't drink that much in the room.
