When we take longer camping trips, sometimes we wait til we get to our destination and do our grocery shopping in the local community, (for various reasons).

What is your favorite grocery store/stores you like to shop where you live, and why ?

No matter where we go, I look for a Publix! Love the cleanliness, friendliness and everything about the place.

If there isn't a Publix, I look for a Super Target.

We used to use the Publix on SR535 in Kissimmee when at FW before they bulit the WMs back in the 1980's, but that place is a dump now as far back as around 2005. When at FW we now use the Super WM on 535 or the Winn Dixie on 535. At home in the Northeast, we have basically Giant and Shoppers Food around us and it's Giant for the most part since we have one that is only two blocks away and is actually within walking distance from our home.

We do have Wegmans and a few Farm Fresh and a spattering of Safeways, etc., but they are 15 to 20 min from our home. Here, Giant is the King and the WM of the grocery stores.

However, all of our normal grocery shopping at home it at the military commissary at Ft Belvoir since it saves us easily 15 to 25% off the local supermarket prices.

We do WM and Kroger at home. We do WM and Winn Dixie at the Fort. Never couold find anything we were looking for in Target...food or otherwise, but then they closed the one closest to us. No big loss. Sometimes go to Publix when DW has a hair appointment...it's close there.

1) Patrick Air Force Base commissary
2) Navy Exchange Orlando commissary
3) any other commissary I might be near
4) Wal-Mart
5) Publix

Frys(which isa Kroger chain) for price but some are better than others.
Safeway,DH uses wi-fi while I shop.
Bashes, love their bakery when something most be store bought, they taste the closest to homemade.

One of our stops on the way to WDW is a publix in Tampa for PKU foods.

Wal-Mart for dry, can and packaged goods.
Publix for produce, meat and seafood items.
Kroger once in a while for a good sale.

Our only big chain is HEB but you can also buy groceries at Super Walmart. When we go out of town, we always look for any big grocery store that has all the neat stuff our store never has. If you live in an area that has the stores with great delis, sushi chefs, imported olive bars, fresh fish markets, produce sections to die for, etc....don't take them for granted. You don't know how lucky you are!:worship:

That describes The Fresh Market! There's one in Orlando, but I've never been to it. We're fortunate to have one on my way home from work.

I consider myself fortunate to live in the Publix area. There are 3 near my house and I use them primarily. I also do some shopping in WalMart (not my favorite but they are cheap and also close to home). I rarely go to Kroger or Food Lion.
