we are going down for our first BWV stay in June--we have a grocery stop planned through TTC. We won't need too much, but plan for some pop, water, juice, easy breakfast foods etc. Does the grocery store TTC stops at take traveler's checks, or should we take some cash as well? And the BWV will keep it cold somehow before checkin, right?

Ah, I love it when you talk like that Robin! We don't call it soda where I live either.

First, it not the grocery store, it's a grocery store. We've used Tiffany twice on our way to OKW. In 1999, the driver stopped at a Publix in the Williamsburg neighborhood near Sea World. In 2000, a different driver wanted to stop at a grocery store called Grocery Store or Super Market or something like that (after we had asked for Publix or Albertsons). We requested that he stop at a real grocery store that serves locals, so he stopped at the Publix at 192 and International Drive. I would recommend determining what grocery store you're going to as soon as you get in the car with the Tiffany driver. Either Publix is a good store -- the one on 192 is newer and larger, but that only means it takes longer to shop. Publix accepts credit cards such as Visa, so that's how we paid. I'm sure they would take major traveller's checks (but I've never tried this) -- or even cash.

In both cases, our condos at OKW were ready for occupancy when we arrived. You might want to call Member Services to have them note your arrival time on your reservation record, along with a request for occupancy at that time. You may not be successful, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Others on this board have posted that bell services at OKW and BWV have kept food cold for them while they were waiting for their room.

I thought I remembered reading on the boards last year that you can fax your list to Albertson's and they will have the stuff ready for you. We've never done any grocery shopping ourselves in the past, and not sure I'd want to use this service, but...just wanted to pass it along. Maybe doing a search would give you more info, if you're interested.

We've only used Tiffany once but we were very pleased with the service. Our driver stopped at a Publix, although I didn't pay attention to where we were. I used my ATM card right at the register, but I believe it also accepted credit cards. When we checked it at Boardwalk our room was not ready, and I indicated to Bell Services what needed to be kept cold. When we finally got our room at 4pm, everything (including our clothing <g>) was cold.

I am usually a slow grocery shopper, but when your next stop is Boardwalk it's amazing how quickly you can stock up!
