OK- just started GG this past week. Did pretty good at CVS and ShopRite, but since I'm still on my $1 trial, decided to get all available lists to compare this week.

I am lucky enough to have 3 Supermarkets and 2 drugstores with lists available and they are all close by my home. I'm hoping someone has done more research and can tell me which would be my best bet. Here are my choices:

Stop&Shop (I am SURE that this is NOT the best, they are way expensive)
ShopRite (the one I use now)
A&P
CVS
Walgreens
I also have a Pathmark nearby but there doesn't seem to be a list for them.

I don't want to pay for all these lists after my trial. I'd just like one grocery store to stick with and one drug store.

Thanks everyone!! :hippie:

Anyone care to share their experiences?

Surprisingly, I get the highest savings at StopnShop.

But I usually shop at Shop Rite and A&P, I will only go to StopnShop when they have items I need or want to stock up on.

We have Stop&Shop, ShopRite, CVS and Walgreens here, and rather than pay a service, I just find it so easy to look through their circulars and circle what I want that's also on sale. Can't say that every week, one is always better as it really depends on what's on sale.

However, in general, I find that Stop & Shop is where we spend most of our $$ of the ones you listed, with both their regular and sale prices being good. CVS is very high, as is Walgreens, and I only shop those when something is on sale plus I have a coupon or a rebate. ShopRite has somethings higher than Stop&Shop and some things lower, so I shop there after having looked through the circular (also ours is a little farther away than Stop&Shop and also typically slower as there are no self-scan machines).

Thank you!

I am so surprised to here about PPs savings at StopNShop. Could be regional, could be that I just buy the wrong things at the wrong time.

About paying for the service - yeah, it's not my ideal, but now that I'm a single mom, working full time, having a long commute to and from work, I just find that the $10 every 8 weeks works better for me. When I stayed home, I pretty much did this myself, but I do think that even then, GG finds deals I otherwise would've missed.

Thanks again! I'd love to hear what others have to say about this! :goodvibes

I can't help you out with which store... we don't have those grocery stores here. I do want to tell you that I am using my $1 trial right now as well. I have saved so much already, well over $100!!! I went to the store (Kroger) on Friday and it was their last day of doubling to $1. Normally they only double to $.50. When everything was rung up, the total was $240 but after coupons and bottle returns (I had $25 in bottles and cans) I only paid $96. I came home with 15 boxes of cereal and the most expensive was $.88!!!!!

I will gladly keep the service! I was only getting around $30 off my weekly bill on my own.

I too find some things cheaper at Stop & Shop (I am in CT too).

I look at Shaws too & some of the smaller IGA's but I usually end up buying at Stop & Shop (plus my ds is dairy allergic & one of the 2 S&S's in my area has the stuff he needs).

I'd love to go to Shop Rite & just see (those darn commercials growing up) but I never had one in my area (Fairfield County) but since I moved to the eastern part of the state I found one about 1/2 from me but since I don't go to that area often I haven't had the opportunity to to try it.

I tried the GG on the trial but it just didn't work for me. I buy when things go on sale & if I need them. A friend of mine used the GG & she shops at S&S & does save a bundle there too.
