Looking forward to a BWV vacation in less than three weeks!

Any suggestions / recent successes with advance ordering of groceries for delivery to a DVC location?

In the past, my family has driven from the airport and stopped at a grocery store to stockup. I'd prefer some alternatives other than the on-premises groceries. Anybody have good success recently with a delivery service?

I used Garden Grocer, and it was outstanding!! It was my first experience with grocery delivery, I found them reasonably priced, and my groceries were there when I checked in. I love that I just had to put in my order online, pay for it and had no worries - just the $$ I saved on 4 cases of water made the delivery charge well worth it!!

I have also used Garden Grocer a few times and they were wonderful! Everything came as ordered, cold items were cold etc.. Would highly recommend them! They are a little pricey, but for the convenience of not having to shop myself when I get to WDW, it is well worth it for us:thumbsup2

I use Garden Grocer, most recently was about 3 weeks ago. I've always been happy with their service and the products I've purchased.

We've used wegoshop.com for years. I like having them come directly to our room as opposed to delivery to Bell Services. Love that they'll shop at your choice of stores and give you the receipt :thumbsup2

I used Garden Grocer in April 2010 and Wegoshop in April 2009. We had a great experience with both. Garden Grocer is a little more expensive but you can order directly from their website. Wegoshop will shop at the store of your choice and provides you a receipt. With wegoshop you will have to be very specific with what you want. The store did not have the brand available for something I requested so they called me to confirm if a certain alternative was okay.

We used WeGo shop. They were very nice and picked up everything on our list. It was nice to specify what we wanted instead of picking from a pre determined grocery list. I don't know if i would do it again though. We had a small list of staple items (eggs, butter, milk, bread, lunch meat, water etc). We did get a case of beer and 2 bottles of wine so the total was $74.00. This meant a $22.00 delivery fee and a tip. By the end of it I paid $115.00 for $74.00 worth of groceries. That's $41.00 extra. I could probably rent a compact car for $41.00 and do the shopping myself. I specified that i wanted the cheapest items when I wasn't specific on brand. There were a few things we got that I know weren't the cheapest. I got a loaf of bread for $3.00. I would never spend that kind of money on a loaf of bread - I get the store brand that's much less. Small bag of chips for $3.99, just stuff like that. I know people will say i paid $41.00 for the convenience i just don't know if i would do it again.

Has anyone else had problems with wegoshop padding the bill by buying the most expensive brands?
We need about $30 - $40 worth of groceries. We need it delivered to bell services so we don't waste park time waiting for the delivery. Considering quality of service & delivery fees, which company (wegoshop vs garden grocer) would most people on the board recommend?

The honesty and attention to detail is why I love Wego (not saying GG isn't honest--i've never used them) We tell her what brands we want or if we want generic. She'll always call if there's a problem. She's even gone to other stores without charging more to make sure she gets what we need.

We have used wegoshop.com 5 times and I highly recommend their service. I have gotten exactly what I asked for each time. One time the item I requested was not available and Marge called my cell from the store to ask if a substitution was okay. They will even shop discount chains like Sam's Club if you request it.
They do not mark up each item, like Garden Grocer does. I like being able to make my own list, rather than shop a "virtual" grocery aisle.
The first time we used their service we calculated that we definitley saved the delivery fee over the cost of buying at Disney stores.
I like having it delivered to my room, and I like receiving and comparing the original store receipt.
If like PP, you want the cheapest loaf of bread available etc, maybe you would be better off shopping for yourself.
We have been highly satisfied and feel the cost is well justified.
Enjoy

Wegoshop has been great for us. We send them a list and get exactly what we ask for. I don't feel at all like they pad the bill. Highly recommended.

I dealt with Amy a few weeks ago (never used WeGo when Marge was there). She was very pleasant and easy to deal with. I think they have a great system. Most people love them and they get exactly what they ask for. It's great to be able to specify brands etc. Unfortunately, I asked for "generic" or the "cheapest option" when not specified and it's not what I got. But, I guess I could take the advice someone gave me and just shop for myself since I asked for a cheap loaf of bread:)

We've used Gardengrocery many times now and have never had a problem with it.

OP, if you're going around the holidays I would suggest you get your order in ASAP. They do fill their time slots for delivery so you might run into problems with getting your order when YOU want it.

Good luck and have a great trip!

I have used wego for, I think 4 years. The first times I was well pleased with the service and the price/quality. However, this last time was not the usual good experience I had come to expect. The delivery was much, much later than I expected, the ice cream had almost completely melted and over half of my dozen eggs were broken.

I could have complained, but I was on vacation and didn't want to take the time. I'm doing my own shopping this year though. Hopefully if the curbsite test in Tampa and Atlanta go well with Publix, we'll be able to shop online and pick up curbside next year.

We used Amy at wegoshop and were very happy. My DSis is very picky about groceries and was happy with what she delivered. She called to ask if she could come early, and delivered everything that we ordered. The delivery charge was exactly what we expected and we did include a tip because we were so glad to not have to take the time to go shopping ourselves. Have a great vacation!

What about if you just want water? Does anyone know if price club will still deliver to the world :confused3 I am going in 2 wks. and we are on the dining plan this time so I really just want water-we go through LOTS of water! We are taking the magical bus :) to the Animal Kingdom Villas so we will not have a car.
