I remember reading on the boards there is a grocery store that will deliver items to your hotel. Can someone chime in and tell me the name and if you had a good experience? Thanks! :thumbsup2

do a search for gardengrocer. There are multiple reviews. We've used them twice and it was wonderful.

i'm not sure of a specific store that will delivery. but i have used garden grocer. the short of it, you must spend at least $40 - and delivery is $12-14 (i cant remember which) - tip is optional. I figured since they set the minimum and there was a predetermined delivery charge - there is no sense in tipping.

my groceries were waiting for me when i got to the hotel. they were then delivered to my room by the hotel staff. i tipped them though! :)

I think Goodings grocery store delivers, but I read recently that they are going out of business.
I have used a grocery delivery service called wegoshop.com 5 times in the past. I love them and recommend them highly. Marge Peck the owner, is great to work with.
You compile your own list of items to purchase, including brand names and sizes if appropriate. You can choose the store they will shop in too. The cost is the exact cost of the groceries (they give you the store receipt) plus a delivery charge. There is no minimum grocery order. Of course I always tip the delivery person/shopper as they have just spent a lot of time getting my order for me. I ususally schedule a delivery time for late afternoon of our arrival day. It has been great
We usually get breafast items, fruit, coffee, juice, soda, water, beer, wine, crackers and cheese and some snack foods. I believe we have saved the delivery fee over shopping at Disney's stores, on the case of water alone.
HTH

I have used Garden Grocer and it was super convenient. Their website is www.gardengrocer.com. You simply place all the items you want in your cart and then checkout. There is a minimum order of $40 and I think the deliver charge was about $15. Even though we have a car at our disposal, I thought the delivery charge was money well spent. I didn't have to shop in an unfamiliar store, take all the stuff to our car or to our room.

Their website has a drop down box in the checkout section that allows you to put in the resort you are staying in. The site automatically puts in the address. You will have to provide a contact number.

Last year, we were delayed in traffic and ran about an hour later than I expected. Garden Grocer called and said they were on their way and would leave the items with Bell Services. Bell Services kept the items that needed refrigeration in their refrigerator. I called Bell Services when we got to our room and they delivered the items within 10 minutes.

I like gardengrocer.com. They are a bit high, but for the convenience, it is totally worth it.

I prefer www.wegoshop.com to garden grocer. I found the service more personalized and you pay what's on your shopping receipt + the delivery fee. GG is waaay overpriced.

WGS will go to any supermarket you choose - including Walmart - and make multiple stops.

I had very specific items on my list and they took care of each & every one.

I was thrilled with their service.

WGS is great, but they expect you to know EXACTLY what you want. Some out-of-towners cannot do that.
They go to only 1 store for your visit.

I was following up with this post, and I never used wegoshop.com before...so I looked into it.

Grocery total up to $50.00 = $17.00 service fee
Grocery total between $50.00 - $100.00 = $22.00 service fee
Grocery total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $27.00 service fee
Grocery total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $37.00 service fee
Grocery total over $300.00 = 13% of grocery total, service fee

A gratuity of 10% of the grocery total will be added to all orders that are left at bell services.

I dunno, but I don't see the point of adding a 10% gratuity if the order is left with bell services. So you pay WGS a tip, and you have to pay the guy at bell services a tip for bringing the items to your room. :confused3 seems foolish.

We are using Garden Grocer for the first time this trip. I chose them because i like being able to check off items vs. having to describe every brand and quantity. We have had an excellent experience so far. I placed my order last saturday for this Saturday May 1st. It only took about 10 minutes to place and I added beer by writing a message in the message section. They have called me to confirm the beer and the payment for the beer. So much cheaper than buying it at Disney. We will see how the rest of the experience is on Saturday, but I expect it to be great!

Actually, I used GG to make the list, put it into a spreadsheet, and sent it off to WGS :) I used the favorites list on GG that I compiled when I ordered from them as a basis.

I don't mind tipping for the outstanding personalized service.

As well, I make sure I'm there when the order arrives and it's delivered to me, not bell services.

Marge at we go shop is the best. On our last trip they even used come coupons they had and went to the store where our stuff was on sale at. Saved us a little. You can't beat the service with wegoshop.

Hi. We just returned from WDW and used wegoshop.com. Marge is fantastic. We stayed in the cabins and had a late arrival. Our grocery items were in the cabin upon our arrival - cold stuff in refrigerator or freezer and the rest neatly on the counter. They will e-mail confirmation of the list and we had a voice mail upon touchdown at Orlando airport saying our items had been delivered. We placed a second order for beer and a few other things and there is a discount for subsequent orders during your stay. The only thing we specified by brand were a few things and they made good substitutions when the brands weren't available (diapers and wipes). They will buy specific brands if you want and they will go to more than one store if you request that as well, though we didn't. Absolutely worth every penny for the service and we will use them again upon our next trip in a few months.

We plan on going shopping ourselves. We are staying at AKV and will have our car. There is a Publix (similar to Albertson's, Kroger, Ralph's...) about two miles away.

What is foolish about tipping the person who provides a great personalized service to you. :confused3

Just wanted to chime in and say that I have known Marge and her husband Dave from WeGoShop for over 20 years (was at their wedding!) and they are honest, trustworthy, and beyond reproach as far as their integrity and commitment to great service. I don't know if I'll need their services or not on our next trip, but if I needed any type of grocery service, I would not hesitate to use their service with great enthusiasm! I can't wait to see them socially on our next trip! They are a small family with a HUGE commitment to doing the best job they possibly can!

So if you were there to meet them, you wouldn't tip the delivery person? That's like not tipping the pizza guy because there is a delivery charge. Service positions such as this depend on customers tipping for great service. I am sure that they charge the 10% only because it is the only way to ensure that people aren't having things delivered to the bell counter just to avoid having to tip their delivery people.
