I know that Vons will deliver to the Hojos, but are there others?

I believe Vons is the only company that delivers. And they do deliver to other hotels besides Hojo.

I know that you can also order groceries for delivery on www.safeway.com as I had looked into if for a trip of ours. Just click on the Grocery Delivery tab at the top.

Yes they will! If your room is ready and you're already checked-in, they'll even take them to your room and put the cold stuff in the frig in your room.

When you place your order, you give them a 2-hour window in which to make their delivery. You need to make sure that you schedule it for a time that you will be at your motel. I just received a delivery from them today and it was awesome. It is the first time that I have used a delivery service because I always thought that they were too expensive but I was pleasantly surprised at the cost. It was very reasonable and the delivery person was awesome. I will definitely continue to use this service when I travel.

No worries, our first order came a few hours before we even checked in and half way through our trip we made a second order which came while we were out at the parks.
The first order, when DH went down to get it, the front desk guy got the milk and yogurt out of the fridge and he told DH the front desk guys all had converstion all morning on weather or not the beer should go in the fridge (it did not)
The second order was in our room waiting- with our fridge food put inot our fridge when we returned from the park (with a nice note from the front desk)

Now this was just our experience at Hojo. This year we will be staying at DLH and are hoping for the same great experience with delivery

out of curiousity, do you need to tell the staff you have groceries coming? I would feel bad if I were to miss the delivery, or is this common at Hojo. I just came back from Hojo's and really enjoyed my visit, will probably be coming back soon. Does the delivery ever try to deliver straight to the room, or is the common operating procedure to leave stuff at the front desk.

Do you have the option to have it delivered directly to the room without going thru the bell services?

We've used Von's delivery at HoJo several times - it's a great service. You don't need to tell the front desk you have groceries coming, but it can't hurt. If you haven't checked in yet, they'll store them behind the front desk on the right side of the lobby. If you have checked in, they'll try calling your room so you can collect the groceries at the front desk. If you get there when the Von's guy is still there, you can have him deliver them strait to your room (don't forget to tip a bit). Otherwise, if you are at the parks, HoJo staff will deliver them to your room and put the cold items in the fridge as previously stated. Things like this are why we keep coming back to HoJo's.

In my experience, Von's tend to deliver towards the end or after the window you set up, so keep that in mind.

When we stayed at Residence Inn Maingate in 2007 they advertised a grocery delivery service, which we used, and I noticed the groceries were from Albertson's.
I briefly checked out the online shopping page of both Von's and Albertson's, using the Disneyland Hotel zip code, and it looked like Albertson's had a larger selection.

We are staying at the Residence Inn Maingate and they have a free service where you give the front desk your grocery list by 9am and then the will do the shopping for you and deliver it to your room. We are looking forward to trying this service out when we go in June.

Unfortunately, Albertson's stopped their delivery service from all their stores last year. We loved using them and were sad to see that their service had stopped. We used Vons on our last trip though, and everything worked out great.
