Grocery delivery

I know I have saw this info on the boards, but can not find it now. We will now be flying to DW in May, thakns to a really good fare on SWA. Problem now is we need groceries delivered, since we will be taking the Magical Express. Can someone pass along the names of the stores they have used to preorder some basic food items. We will be in a studio for eight days,so fridge space is limited, mainly wanted milk and OJ, Also what kitchen extras should I pack, since the studio is limited in what is suplied in the way of plates etc?

There are paper plates and bowls provided, along with plastic silverware. If you run out, cal housekeepig for more. You'll also have ceramic cups/mugs and real glass drinking glasses. I would pack a paring knife (not in your carryon). Milk is one thing I usually by at the resort store, unless I drive offsite to Publix for other items. Milk is about the same price as offsite.

Goodings has a grocery service, but they are pricey. You may want to look at a delivery service like www.gardengrocer.com

If you are talking just a few breakfast items it might be cheaper and easier to buy the wet goods at the DVC resort where you are staying. If they aren't heavy and bulky I'd bring the dry goods along with me (like sugar, salt, pepper and favorite coffee or tea...possibly bread). The delivery charge would more than offset any savings over the resort store.

Now if you are thinking fruits, vegetables, cheese, soda, wine, beer...then maybe get it delivered. That gives me an idea for a new thread....

We used GardenGrocer.com in January, and it worked out great. They do have a $10 delivery fee and a $50 min. order. If you just need a few basics, the resort has a small grocery. They will even put it in your room for $5 if you fax your order three days ahead. We brought a whole suitcase of non-perishables like snacks, coffee, tea bags. It gave us an empty bag to fill with souvenirs.

I highly recommend their service. They are very professional and affordable. You're groceries are there waiting on you when you arrive!! All for only a $10 fee!!

They delivered beer to us last time. Also, when I set up the delivery with them over the phone, they asked if I wanted them to shop at one store or at two - incase some things were on sale at one store that werent at the other. I declined, but perhaps this means they would make a separate stop for your bartending needs.

What if there are items to be refridgerated, will the DVC resort keep them somewhere? (since I assume I wouldn't have an actual room assignment at that point) so the groceries would never really be waiting in the room, right?

Ours were kept refrigerated in this huge cooler area VWL. I suppose your order will be there whenever you tell them to have it there. Wegoshop had me select a delivery time, and they had it delivered during that time.
