We will be staying 6 nights at DL Hotel. We will have a fridge and a coffee maker (boil water) and no microwave. I am curious to see what others ordered for food in the room......

First - make SURE you have the fridge and not just a cooler (you have to specifically request that...lol...) We have a 2 year old and have always ordered yogurt (her favorite flavor/brand which we have a hard time finding even when we're not at DL!), milk, rice krispies (which are also nearly impossible to find at DL), bottles of water, diapers, pull-ups, and maybe a few other snacks. Just the main things we know we have a hard time finding and use a lot of.

bottled water, snacks that you can bring into the park (i lvoe the nature's valley granola bars) cereals, milk, yogurt, popcorn (if you have a microwave). My sister orders bread and sandwich meat so she can put together sandwiches to save money inside the park!

Ordered a quart of milk, cheerios (in the small containers), presliced apples, snap peas, sliced cheese, snack packs of chips, pretzels, bottled water, yogurt, beer, raw almonds...

PP thanks for the warning about the fridge... now I am going to call and make sure it is on my room request!

I have ordered food while staying in WDW - but never in DL - how do you do this?

Thanks!

You can log-in to www.vons.com. That is where I get my groceries from.

You basically pick out all the groceries you want, and then select what day you want it delivered, and put in your hotel address and room number- voila!

the only iffy thing is that they give you a 2 hour window, so you have to make sure you are there!

You can just go to vons.com (vons is part of Safeway), and make an online order for delivery.:thumbsup2

I'm sure there must be other grocery delivery options there, but all I know is Vons (Safeway), so that's what I can recommend.:)

We got our food for Albertsons.com. You type in the resort zip code and a grocery store list comes up. We ordered water, juice, wine, beer, deli meat, cheese and snack items, as in our necessary sunny climate eats…dill pickles and potato chips.

Do they deliver to all hotels? or just DL resort hotels?
This would help a lot. I need water, diet Dr. Pepper, 7-up, sandwhich items and breakfast stuff. maybe wine?

They will deliver anywhere within their radius. I don’t know if you need to be there to receive the delivery. When we checked in I told the front desk that we were expecting a grocery delivery form Albertsons. She in turn asked us to go to bell services and tell them. Bell S. told us that they would take the delivery and in turn Bell S. would deliver the groceries to us. OK so it was another tip for Bell S. but all in all it worked very well. The water alone paid for the delivery charge to Albertsons and tips!!!

We had Albertson's deliver to the Grand Californian a couple of weeks ago. We ordered water, soda, wine, snacks, cookies and cream for our coffee. We were very impressed with the service - everything arrived in good condition and the at the proper temperature. Bell services contacted us when our order arrived but we had to go downstairs and sign for the delivery at the truck because we had ordered wine. Also, make sure you order well in advance to get the delivery time you want. I waited until about a week before we left and all of the evening time slots were unavailable for the day we arrived.

Can you guys tell me - can you order early if you don't know your room number yet? I was thinking I could phone them to let them know, once we know??

Thanks!!

Also - with Vons, is there no minimum for the first order? Thanks!

One more thing - Could I place an order now, to reserve a delivery time, and then edit the order as I see which items have gone on sale? I think once you submit the order, it's set, so likely no changes? Do you guys just order and not go with sale items? The sales go in weekly increments.

We stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn early September and had groceries delivered from Von's. I placed my order early so I could pick the 2 hour window for delivery that I wanted which I was more concerned with than the sale prices. The delivery guy was so nice and brought our order upstairs to our room. At the time I ordered, there was a free delivery coupon online for first time user's orders.

Our order consisted of plates, paper towels, plastic tableware, detergent, diaper wipes, sugar, cream, salt & pepper, fruit, sodas, frappuccinos, crystal light packets, breakfast items, gallon drinking water and lots of bottled water.

I will definetly be ordering again because it was so convienant to have the things you need in your room without having to go to a store. I agree that we saved a bundle on water, and sodas, by not purchasing them in the park. (Plus, I ordered my Dr. Pepper which cannot be found in the park.)

We didn't call them with our room number - the delivery person let the bellman know he had a delivery for us and they called our room. At the GC, I'm not sure that they let the delivery person take the order directly to the room because we saw other delivery people (pizza) waiting at the bell desk for the guest to come down and pick it up.

As far as getting the sale price, we already had an Albertson's card and provided the number when we opened the account. When you place your order, the sale items come up at the lower price. When we received our order, 1 item was less than it was on our original order so they must adust the price if something goes on sale after you place the order. If you don't have a store card, you can sign up for one online.

i don't know about sale prices changing, but waned to mention that with Vons/Safeway, even if you don't have a "clubcard", when ordering online they assign one to you so you get the club card prices.

We don't have groceries delivered because we drive down, but it's the same idea. Here is what we are bringing this year.

bread
milk
peanut butter
jelly
sunflower seeds
fruit snacks
granola bars
apple sauce
Honey Nut Cherrios
Rice Krispies
Suckers
Bottled Water
Bottled Soda
Baby Food
Hot Chocolate
Mini Ritz and peanut butter

I am really lucky in that my 4 year old LOVES PB&J and applesauce for lunch. So we bring her a sandwich and applesauce everyday for lunch, saves us money :)

We are eating breakfast in the room so we are having cereal and peanut butter toast.

You can get a cup of ice free anywhere in the park so we bring a couple of bottles of soda and water and just pour them over ice. Saves SO much money!

I bring a bunch of suckers too otherwise we have to buy the disney ones that are like $1 each.

I'm having a hard time placing my order, and have been told I can't do it... I have a Canadian postal code instead of a zip code linked to the billing info. of my credit card so when I submit my info., I am left with a 'billing zip code' box to fill in, but I of course can't do it. When I phoned them, they said it couldn't be done. Any ideas?
Thanks!! :) I also phoned Albertson's and was told the same thing.
Has any Canadian been successful in placing an order when in Anaheim? Thanks!

yes you can if the delivery time is available for when you are there...however, most hotels wont accept your groceries from them unless your already checked in so make sure that you put a time down when you know you will be there for sure...
