Can those of you who usually have groceries / water delivered to your resorts staying onsite please share who you like to order from? I know about Garden Grocer but wondered if there is anywhere else as an alternative option.

thanks all :goodvibes

We used We Go Shop. They will go to store or stores of your choice. You pay the amount on your receipt plus a fee, which I found to be reasonable. I had wine, beer, snacks, etc. delivered. It was so convenient and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

have always used garden grocer and been happy with them but hear Stables will deliver water but have not tried that may check into that this fall and guess are other places to order food from. we only get water as we do not cook or even make coffee while there. plus get like bulky things like kleenexa dn wipes and paper towels.

Does the resort charge a fee for this or is it strictly paying the delivery to lets say go shop or garden grocer??
As I have read something about being charged for getting packages delivered to CS...?
If anyone knows it would be great :)

The convention hotels (of which CSR is one) do charge a fee for receiving deliveries which was around $9.99 last time I checked, but that was some time ago.

Thanks all. I will look at the We Go Shop option as well as GG :thumbsup2

Lee, what sort of stuff are you after? Have you thought about travelling to one of the supermarkets? It's a tradition for DBF and I to go to Walmart on our first day- in fact, I think it's his favourite part of the trip! :rotfl:

I had thought about that, but it's more hassle than it's worth for the few items we need. I just wanted some bags of chex mix, some dried fruit and odd bits for snacks and some bottled water. I know you can get cups of water in the parks but I will only drink bottled water (I know :snooty:)

We were there the last week of September/first week October and went through a lot more bottled water than we have in the past, especially in the first week when it was so humid. Going in early September this year, and this being a slightly longer trip than last year, I am anticipating needing even more.

I know it's just trivial things and we have the dining plan, but we wasted a lot of opened bags of snacks because the portion sizes were just a little too large and we spent a considerable amount on bottled water, over and above the ones we got with meals/snack credits.

Even with a tip and delivery charge, at $3 a bottle onsite and a conservative estimate of around 40 extra bottles of water needed, it is going to save us money.

Interested to hear what you choose, Lee! As much as I love a good Walmart shop, I'm considering using Garden Grocer, etc. for our trip next year. Like you, I'd like to get a few bottles of water and maybe a crate of beer for the boyfriend, thinking as we don't drive over there it'd be easier than us lugging it all back to resort in a taxi.

Anyone know how it works with ID though? Garden Grocer's website states ID required for alcohol (not a problem) but I thought you could arrange delivery for your arrival so if it's dropped off before you get there then do Disney have to check or something?

I don't know how the ID check works. One look at my face on check in will confirm 21 is a long time ago so I'm an easy guest on that score :rotfl2: They do ask for photo ID when you check in, but I have never paid attention to what they check - I assumed it was just for likely for identification purposes.

If the delivery arrives before you do, they will keep it until a room is assigned to you when you check in, from what I understand.

I love shopping but we are trying to keep costs down on this trip and like you, I don't drive so it just makes additional transport costs and time a pain.

I think I am going to add apples onto the order too. Lost count of the number of times I have paid $1.60 in the foodcourts for one apple for DD! I will let you know. I am not new to having items delivered to the resort, but have never done 'consumables' so I wanted some feedback from those who have done it first :)

Oo he sounds like my DH! We're not going until 2014 but he's already excited about taking me to Walmart!! (it'll be my first time to wdw but his 6th!) of all the places he's been to there and wants to take us to I can't say it was the thing I was looking forward to the most but er... Ok :rotfl:

We used. Wegoshop they were fine, no complaints as we arrived at the hotel she pulled up behind so her timing was spot on!!:)

We used Garden Grocer on our last trip and found it very convenient. We found it cheaper to buy 1x case of bottled water and a gallon bottle of water, then we just refilled the empty water bottles with the gallon bottle,as a large water was way cheaper than buying another case.
We were also on the dining plan and didn't want to waste our snack credits on items that were less than say $3 so we also bought a few family sized packets of Cheetos and fish crackers. I bought a box of cereal, large milk and some really tasty organic smoothie drinks for breakfast. We also had fun buying a few things that we can't get in the UK and have brought them home with us.
We were out when the delivery arrived but Bell Services held it all there (cold items refrigerated) until we returned. All it cost was a tip.
As far as i am aware GG do not sell alcohol:confused3

I'm the same! :lmao:

It's actually a lot of fun, especially if you're into all the "cool American stuff" that we can't (easily) get over here. Also, they have loads of branded beauty products, including high-end stuff like Essie and whatnot. :thumbsup2

Yeah I'm fully prepared to be rolling my eyes upon entering and then him having to drag me out! Beauty products sounds good, plus I've been dying for lucky charms cereal for years since they stopped doing it here! Oo and mountain dew! (it doesn't taste the same imported!) I'm going to be a nightmare! :rotfl:

Is there a minimum order? I live off the Minute Maid still lemonade when I'm over there, so to have some in the room would be good. Along with some Lucky Charms and some peanut butter M&M's and some other (peanut butter) bits and pieces theres not alot I'd want really? It'd come to say, $10 max?

GG minimum spend is $40 + delivery fee, or free if over $200.Thats a lot of Minute Maid Lemonade and M&Ms ;)

:rotfl2: Think I might have to give up on that idea then! I know the other resorts have much better shops that POP so I'll just have to resort hop until I find what I want! What a shame ;)

Is it wrong I'm now pricing up my order and I don't go until September 2013 :rotfl2: Did have a bit of a :scared1: when I saw delivery was $12 but then when I think it'd cost me more in a taxi to/from a supermarket plus all the carrying!

Also struggling to decide on 2ltr bottles of Mountain Dew or a crate of smaller bottles, lol.
