I want to have groceries delivered for our week in January. I've heard of Garden Grocer ($12 delivery fee, I think) and wegoshop.com ($17 fee - but will shop where you want). Has anyone used these companies or others that you'd recommend?

We used Garden Grocer in August, it went fine, everything was as ordered.

Actually Wegoshop is a $22 fee. Plus i'm not so certain the deliver inside of disney world. This is from their site.
Shop and Delivery Rates:

Grocery total up to $100.00 = $22.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $27.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $37.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total over $300.00 = 12% of grocery total shop & delivery fee

*Please Note: The above rates and fees apply to local residents and vacationers staying outside of Disney World Resorts and are cash / check discount prices. Please add an additional 3% of grocery total for any other payment option. The shop & delivery fee is one fee, there is not a seperate shop fee and a seperate delivery fee. We ordered from wegoshop, and iirc, they have a separate page on the website for ordering onsite. I forget what the fee was - and it was almost a year ago, anyhow. But, she was wonderful to work with. Half of the things I wanted, Garden Grocer didn't carry, but she was able to find everything. And some of them were on sale - so she passed along those savings.

I've used Garden Grocer seceral times. (and I am using them again for our 10/31 trip) I have always been very happy with them and their delivery has always been on time.

we've used Gardengrocer many times and been very happy with their service each time! Highly recommended! :thumbsup2

I have been trying to figure this one out myself. If we don't rent a car, considering the cost of delivery, I'm thinking that calling a cab and picking out my own groceries at a Publix or something might be cheaper. I've also considered using my fourth suitcase, since my little guys only really need to share one, to pack snacks and cereal and stuff in. Then I would just buy the milk at the resort. The only problem is the bottled water...not sure how to get that in without a twelve dollar fee.

Oh, the things we stress over. :rotfl:

We thought about renting a car in Sept. With the info and help of the posters on here I realized the rental cost, carseat fee, and gas it would be cheaper to have groceries delivered. The rental cost was approx. $80 not including carseat. $80 versuses the $17 delivery fee, as you can tell, the delivery was MUCH cheaper.

I used wegoshop.com. The lady was wonderful and very helpful. I was charged $17 grocery and delivery fee + cost of groceries+10% tip because I had them to leave groceries with bell services. The fee is based on amount of groceries. My fee was based on groceries under $100.

I went to my local supermarket and wrote down everything I wanted including size. I, also, wrote down substitution in case the Orlando Walmart did not carry a flavor of juice or a particular snack. She only had to substitute a flavor of juice. She found it all. I couldn't remember a brand of snack but explained what it contained and how many. (Somehow, I forgot to write the brand down.) I liked doing this much better than only buying what garden grocer provided and you pay Walmart prices not inflated prices. Like $7-8 for a case of water.

I have thought about taking a cab, too. My concern with delivery is that I have to be there to receive it. I'd like lunchmeat & milk delivered. I suppose it could stay with bell services for a very short time.

What's the latest wegoshop will deliver, I wonder?

My 6 year old has just come into the room and is picking an icon now...:scared1:

We used Garden Grocer for our August vacation, ordered $600 dollars worth of food for 10 people, 10 days and never had a problem, in fact, while we were waiting to get back to our cabin at Ft. Wilderness, from the park, the cast member called and informed me all the groceries were delivered earlier then I anticipated but not to worry as they put all the groceries away along with all the cold items we ordered. I will be using Garden Grocer again next year, when we stay at OKW. :yay:

::yes:: Just got back yesterday from WDW. Stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. Marge from WeGoShop brought everything we ordered to our villa after a late arrival Sat. nite about 8 P.M. I thought that was amazing--no extra fee. The charge for delivery inside the park is actually less than outside. She called us from the store for advice on a substitution she needed to make. I just recommended her to a friend this morning who will be going in March. Due to her service we did not have to haul along a weeks worth of diapers and had milk for an under 2 with no hassle. Sure cut down on our luggage. Thanks Marge! :thumbsup2 website is www.wegoshop.com As you may have guessed-I thought their service was great and worth not wasting my vacation time going to the grocery store.

We have used GG and WGS and GG was ok, but we weren't happy with their lack of communication with us after the initial order was placed. This was a pretty common complain here on the Dis actually. We used WGS on our last trip and Marge was great! Like the pp said, she also called us to make sure a substitution for something we had ordered would be OK. She let us know what time she would be at our resort to deliver the goods, and she was there on time. We have absolutely no complaints with WGS and would use the service again when needed, for sure!

Is there a website for these places or do you have to call? We might end up driving down but just in case we don't I would like to do this and I have never done it before!

I used Garden Grocer this past August and they were wonderful! I had a problem placing my order online, so I called and they took it over the phone, no problem. They sent me a confirmation via email and then called me the day of delivery to let me know that they had made the delivery to the resort, and at what time. We were at DTD at the time, so it was nice to know the delivery had been completed. They were very professional and helpful, and I would highly recommend them.

I think I'm going to go with wegoshop. We moved from Nashville to Ohio this past summer and I miss Publix! I could get Chicago Italian Bread & Boar's Head deli meat!

The websites, to answer someone's question are:

www.gardengrocer.com and www.wegoshop.com.

I am looking into this for our trip in Feb. I am just curious, if you use a delivery service that goes to whatever store for you, how do you know what a particular store carries to make your list? I am assuming that they will want brands, size/quantity, etc. of products.:confused3

Also, has anyone ever heard of or used www.fooddeliveryorlando.com? It looks like the same thing as wegoshop, but cheaper.

We just used wegoshop.com in Oct. The fee was $17 for orders under $100 and she delivered right to our resort room at SSR within an hour of my calling with our room #. Marge even came inside and unpacked the coolers for us! Garden Grocer did carry some of the things we wanted and their pricing was high to me. Marge shopped where we asked her to and bought what we asked her. I would definitely recommend wegoshop.com

You don't have to be there, and bell services can refrigerate the cold stuff. We have used Garden Grocer twice and recommend them. I needed soy nut butter for my son, even though it wasn't on their website, I asked and they delivered it! Even the brand I said I get. :thumbsup2

I used Food Delivery Orlando (fooddeliveryorlando.com) before (July).
They were GREAT! They ask me were I would like them to do my groceries and call me when they were shopping. My son has food allergies so I am very specific about brands.
My groceries were on time and the best part is that they are 24 hours, so I called them 2 days later to buy me Tylenol and formula at 10 pm and my order arrived at 11:15 pm.
They also do deliveries for several restaurants. We could get Thai food delivered to Port Orleans
