Well my brilliant idea to buy water from Costco may not work out because of the delivery charges ($20 for a case of water). So, I need advice from all you seasoned vets. Where do you order groceries from? I remember Albertson's and Vons being mentioned.

For either place, or a different suggestion:

1) What is the delivery fee?
2) How far in advance did you order?
3) Is there a specific location's website you used, or just the general one?
4) Any other tips?

Thanks!!!! :thanks:

Vons has a coupon that gives you the delivery free. not sure where it is or if I just got it in the email and forgot . I delete my mail each day so sorry can not go look. but Vons does deliver and if you look hard enough or regester with them Im betting you can find the free delivery :)

Yes, it's very easy. I just ordered our groceries last night for delivery on the 12th. The code is EASY7, but the order total needs to be at least $50. Otherwise, the delivery fee is $17.95. The first thing you want to do is register and use the hotel address in the address field.

I love having it delivered to the room. This next trip we make we're staying across from a Target so I'll just walk and pick up a few things.

We've used both Albertsons and Vons, but Albertsons recently stopped their delivery service nationwide. Rats. Vons worked well for us the first time, though.

You go to their delivery website and pick the store closest to your hotel (zip code 92802, I think?) and use the hotel address as the delivery address.

You can order weeks in advance, I believe, but you can also change your order right up until 10 p.m. the night before. (I think? Again, check the website, because it's been 6 months since I did this, and that was Albertsons.)

If you don't mind doing the $50 delivery fee, it's pretty easy to rack that up. We bought breakfast stuff and ate breakfast in the room, also snacky stuff, paper towels, bowls and a pack of plastic utensils. To get to $50 I bought a couple bags of candy, and took the remainder home.

HTH!

A few weeks ago we used vons and were very happy with it. (even though they forgot our chips and pretzels, one quick call and the price was refunded). Yes there is a $50 min order to get the free delivery, but if you are getting more than water, it is very easy to reach $50.

On the Costco issue, I am not sure why you are getting a $20 delivery fee? When I look it up, in small print undet the price it says delivery is included in the price.

Thanks everyone for your help. We signed up online for an account with Vons, so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for answering my question. I'm not sure why we are getting a delivery fee either, unless it is because we don't have a business membership. :confused3 Thanks for getting back to me though.

I finally figured it out! I went to business delivery, and since we are delivering to a hotel, I selected Commercial delivery. We don't have a business account, and the fine print clearly states that for less than $250, a delivery fee is charged. However, when I click on business delivery, but I choose residential, the delivery fee is now included. It just takes me a while to figure it out. :rotfl:It may still work. I just need to call our hotel and make sure that we can receive deliveries. Thanks for bearing with me everyone. :thumbsup2

When ordering from Vonn's did you get to choose the specific delivery time? Thanks.

You get to choose a window of time for delivery, for example 2-4 p.m. Unfortunately my experience with Von's they seem to have ignored my request and decided a 36 hour window was appropriate:rotfl2:

:lol Not good.

I guess maybe I need to figure out which Vonn's is closest and then call and ask a few questions. We can't check into the HOJO until 4 p.m. so we would need a window like 4-6 p.m. and I don't know how late they deliver and I can't find that info on the website.
