Grocery delivery question

I've seen a lot of you have done a grocery delivery to your hotel and I have a few questions. When you signed up did you use your home address or your hotel address? Is there somewhere later in the order process where you can enter a different address (sign up using my home address, but have it delivered to the hotel). And are the bell desks ok accepting these deliveries? We're staying at the GCH. I'm sure they're used to it, right? I'm sure I could figure this stuff out on my own, but I thought I'd come to experts. Also, how far in advance is good to place the order?

TIA

I will do my best to answer your questions. I think I registered the DLH as my address and the delivery address. I'm not sure though. I have a horrible cold and can't remember.

The bell desk at the DLH didn't seem to have a problem accepting our delivery. They delivered our groceries to us along with our bags. Von's didn't even call us to pick it up, so I assume the DLH just took it from them.

We placed our order the night before we left. I had forgotten about doing it earlier. We didn't have any problem or anything missing.

It was really easy. It has an electronic list that it will save for you too so you don't forget things. If I can do it. You can do it.

Were you able to time it so you could get dairy products?

My sister is going with us and she doesn't have money to help out (which is fine. This trip was a gift anyways) but she gets food stamps and wants to be able to help out that way. Getting snacks and drinks. Do you know if the stores takes food stamps? Probably not, but worth asking about. :confused3

Ok, I'm trying to place this delivery order at Vons and I keep getting a message saying they don't deliver to that area (zip code 92803 - the one for the Grand Californian). So what address did you use?? And is there another grocery store that would deliver that I can use? Thanks. We leave tomorrow morning - nothing like leaving it 'til the last minute.

If Vons site is not working for you, try Albertsons.com We have used them and they are great also. I was in the room when they came and had to sign for the delivery, so you might want to check on that . If you go to their site, there is a phone number where you can call and ask questions about placing your order. I did that and they were so helpful. Use the hotel address as your delivery address, and it will also ask for a billing address where you can use your home address. We had a great experience with them and will use them again the next time. They do charge $10 for the delivery fee unless you are order a large amount of food, etc. ( I can't remember the minimum), but it was so worth it for what we saved on a case of bottled water alone! Good Luck...I hope it all works out for you!:)

Okay, here is the quick and dirty for all. . .

1. If you are driving, save your money and just go to the grocery store. This is NOT WDW and there are many grocery stores VERY CLOSE.

2. If you must do delivery, you can do VONS, Albertsons and I believe that even Ralphs has delivery service.

3. ALL California grocery stores accept food stamps. It is required by law. Even the convenience stores accept food stamps.

Okay, so maybe I am biased but I have been to WDW and there are no convenient grocery stores. There are over a dozen convenient grocery stores in the DLR area. EVERYTHING is close. This is NOT the spread out resort you are most used to at WDW. . .

For Safeway/Vons online:

No, you cannot use food stamps, gift cards or coupons.

A 2 hour delivery window is $9.95 but a 4 hour window is $4.95.

Currently the promo code "flavor" will get you free delivery on an order of $50 or more. Merry Christmas.

This does not apply to online orders.
