Grocery Coupon Train

Where is everyone? Out shopping? I "shopped" last night at Victoria's Secret.com using great codes. This morning was CVS (four of them to be exact ;) ) other than that I don't need anything. Anyone get some good deals today?

You went to four CVS's??? :confused3 Why? I must be the only couponer who doesn't understand the ins and outs of CVS shopping. I've read the thread about how you buy stuff to get ECB's and then cash those back in for more merchandise. Is that all there really is to it or am I missing the CVS boat? (Can we talk about boats on a train???) :rotfl2: Give me some tips??

Yeah that is pretty much how it goes.
Some buy and buy. I tend to just get what we will use. I also make sure DD and her college roommates are well taken care of.
If you ever want to start aske on the CVS thread for the best way to start so you have little out of pocket and get the max in ECB backs. A couple people on that thread can hook you up. They are great

Why? I have a LOT of CVS stores close to me but not all the stores had what I was looking for (never did find the headphones) but it was worth it because I got.....four toothpaste, two shampoo, two conditioner, four lip gloss, two nail polish, two king size candy bars, six Gatorade, one lotion for FREE!!!! :woohoo:

My sixteen year old daughter was with me so that included using her card too. It cost me out of pocket $39.78 and I have $42.69 in CVS bucks to use in the future.

I must say I am fairly new to CVSing and have made a few mistakes (it is a little confusing at first) but now I think I have it down and can't believe how much I'm getting for FREE. AND you can use coupons so in some cases they PAY you.

Tips?
Start small. Make only one or two extra bucks rewards purchases until you get the hang of it.

Stay organized. I keep a separate envelope in my wallet with CVS bucks so I never let them expire.

As I said I'm new to the whole thing so others can give you more tips. I TRIED explaining the whole thing to my daughter this morning and I just confused her. AND myself.:rolleyes1 So I'm not really the right person to try to explain it. I just know it is FUN.

I also tend to only get what we will use or I can donate. If it is not our brand of make-up, etc. I don't bother. I don't understand getting something if you are not going to use it or donate it. I guess some people just like the "hunt".

It is a good way to stretch your budget and for me with so many CVS stores within three miles it is easy. The other day I got two bottles of make up remover and six boxes of Kleenex lotion for .20 out of pocket. I stopped on my way to work, took me less than 10 minutes.

Willis, thanks for the JIF peanut butter and especially the Dole tropical fruit coupons. All will be used.

My DGDs will have awesome stokings this year thanx to CVS! Everytime make up is BOGO I buy 2 so get 1 free and use c/os plus ecbs so they have powder , lipgloss, mascara, nail polish, eyeshadows in enuff quantity to last till next Fall. I think I may do some for Easter in their baskets and then will set them up for Disney in Sept. They get to try different hairstylers, and have tried shampoos but seem to prefer Pantene . We have an assortment of soaps and bodywashes and am now straing on bodylotions, with winter dryskin!!I got MP# players and plenty of batteries . Am very well stocked with toothpaste and dishsoap ! My oop may be higher than many others but I do just buy what we need !!I plan to make donations to shelters this Christmas of toiletries , so those are never a waste !!

Yeah I have two stores near me. But we only have one card. I never got a second card, I would be the one to get caught
It has helped out a lot with stretching our budget also.

So it's illegal to have two cards if one is the dh's and one is the dw's? Only one per family?

I was not sure about the two cards per household but the cashier said it was "legal" and her and her husband each have a card. I also thought about the "greed" factor but as long as it is CVS "legal" (at least that was what I was told) I went with that. My daughter does shop at CVS on her own (with her own money) and wanted to be able to benefit from the savings too. She is frugal like her mom.:thumbsup2

We have at least four stores within a three mile radius AND a distribution center so usually our stores are well stocked (except for those darn headphones we really wanted today).

From what I understand it is one per address. The main store I go to said they are now starting to track them.
They have to do this because they have large groups that will go in and wipe out a store with in 5 minutes of opening.
But I am okay with one card. I get good deals and am able to stock up on what we need
