Has anyone ever used the service to purchase groceries ahead of time? Where they deliver them to the DVC Resort. If so what service? What types of goods did you get? :confused3 And would you recommend it? We are traveling with my in-laws... We have a 2 BR lockoff... and I thought it might be easier for them to have some of their regular breakfast and snack items already in the unit. We won't have a rental car to go to a Publix or Walmart. Thanks for any help, advice or tips...:goodvibes

We use garden grocer every trip and they have always been great. They deliver to bell services and the cold items are marked so bell services keeps them cold.

Thanks. :thumbsup2 I checked out their site.. Looks great.. Has everything... and the prices look good. :woohoo:

You will pay a premium no matter which service you use. Disney is the most expensive, then Garden Grocer, then We Go Shop, followed by a 1 day car rental.

We have used them all with mixed results for the first 3. The option that always gets us what we want, when we want it, and at the least expensive price is when we rent a car for a day and shop for ourselves. It doesn't really take very long and it's a break from the crowds and heat.

Sorry hit send too soon!
We get breakfast items such as cereal, bagels milk coffee sugar etc and a case of water. Snacks for our daughter and juice boxes for her. The case of water is like 32 16.9 oz bottles for around $8. So definitely cheaper than the water in Disney!

Thanks for all of the info... It is a great help. :goodvibes

I've never used the DVC grocery order. Not only are the prices too high, but way back when I started using grocery delivery at WDW, their selection was too small.
I've been using Garden Grocer for years. When I started, they were the only ones who would deliver beer. I was so happy with the service, that I've never even tried any other method of getting groceries.

We used Wego groceries last year... they will stop at the liquor store. Yep. I had my coconut rum/fruity drinks and DH had his bourbon. We also got groceries but think of the $ saved on cocktails!

We've used Garden Grocer twice and have been happy. We like being able to see exactly what we are ordering as we put it in the cart. We've heard good things about wegoshop too and might use them at some point in the future.

We have used wegoshop and have generally been satisfied with the service. Great a couple of times, good a couple of times and crummy just once.

We use Wegoshop. I have some special dietary needs that are not available through Garden Grocer, and the folks at Wegoshop are able to fulfill them.
The only down side is that you have to be present when they deliver.

We used Garden Grocer in January and it was great! We could have saved a bit of money and rented a car, but we were taking my sister for her first time and didn't want to spoil any of the 'magic' by leaving property.

Here is the list that we ordered. Not sure if they still do this, but it was free shipping over $200. This list cost just over $200 and fed 3 people for the full week minus 2 meals out and a few snacks here and there in the parks.

For dinners we made spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread. Hot dogs wrapped in crecent rolls with velveeta, buffalo chicken tacos (I don't reccomend this... we cheaped out and got the Tyson pre breaded chicken instead of raw chicken and it was an experiment gone bad :lmao:) We made PB&J with fruit/chips/string cheese/Dr Pepper or water for lunch in the parks and we made a big breakfast once with eggs and bacon, but most days it was fruit, waffles or cereal.

Also, I know how unhealthy this list looks. :rotfl2:

We figured 'we're on vacation!' so we splurged on junk food we normally wouldn't :thumbsup2

Some of these garden grocer prices look higher than the Disney prices such and the Entenman's donuts while other such as beer are much lower.

WeGoShop for the past five years and loved their service! They will shop where you want, buy you the brands you want, look for sales, use coupons and as PP said, make a side trip to buy adult beverages for a small additional fee. You get the actual receipt and they add a fee. We tips them 10%+. They will deliver right to your room or to Bell Services....I highly recommend them :)

We've also used Garden Grocer and been pleased. Just wanted to add that we also ship a BC down prior to going. DH gets great shipping rates through work, but it is a great way to get dry goods shipped down. We usually load it with cereal, snacks and even laundry detergent. This past year I even shipped down velvetta and rotelle tomatoes - not exactly healthy but yummy melted with a bag of chips.

Thanks to everyone :thumbsup2 for their tips and advice. Now I just need to get together with my In-Laws and make up a shopping list. They can be a bit "Brand" specific. So that may guide my decision. This is just another pre trip task.. which is all part of the excitement :goodvibes and build-up to the trip. That may sound crazy but half the fun is all of the pre trip planning. Just gets us all more excited. :yay:

We have used WeGo on our last 2 trips. The first they left at Bell services and they kept the cold stuff cold. Second trip we met them at the valet driveway at Jambo House, and everything was perfect both times. They got us exactly what we asked for, found coupons and discounts, and saved us a lot of $. We tipped accordingly, which ended up probably not being as cost efficient as just renting a car for the day, but hey we were on vacation right? Next time we will seriously consider the car rental, so we can also eat at one of the many great offsite restaurants that won't charge $40 for a bland steak :rolleyes2
