I saw on the DVC member site, you can order groceries .

Prior to becoming DVC members, we used Garden Grocer. We will be going to WDW for the first time as members this November. :cool1:

Should we order through DVC site :confused3 or stay with Garden Grocer who we have been happy with in the past. Just wondered if there is any difference (cost, variety, etc) or any advantage of using one over the other??

Thanks!!

:) I would stay with garden grocer. I think your selection will be much better and also the prices.

we use garden grocer every trip with no complaints / problems...they will even deliver adult beverages........:cool1:

Thanks!!!

If I had taken the time to look at the order form (didn't know there was one when I posted), :headache: I probably could've answer my own question. :lmao:

Thanks for the input though...we'll stay with GG...we've been happy with them in the past - and now that I know about getting "adult beverages" through them, it's a definite plus!! ;)

It depends on how much you are ordering. When we go in October, we will have the DDP so only need a few staples for breakfast, so it is more convenient to just order to DVC. If you scan the order forms, many of the standard items (milk, eggs, etc.) are not priced that badly, however specialty items are outrageous.

We used Garden Grocer for the first time this past summer and loved them. Their prices are reasonable also. I would stick with them.

WeGoShop is a better deal and they let you pick where they shop and they don't inflate the food prices.

:earsboy: Bill

We were thinking of using GG next time, but don't see beer on their list. I have read other people had it delivered though. Am I missing something?

you have to put those items in the special instructions box and then they will contact you. you also need to fax a copy of your id showing you are over 21.

Do you then have to be present to receive the groceries? I don't see how faxing an ID is valid verification.

the person who's name the reservation is under needs to place the order and fax their id. then they know when they make the delivery the room it is going to is the person who made the order and has the reservation.

everything was reasonable...we're wine and bourbon drinkers, but they were reasonable

We used the DVC members site this past may/june.
This was our 1st members stay @ BLT and we really didn't know what to expect as far as how much we would be eating in our room.
We basically ordered breakfast items, gallons of water & a few snacks. It was all in our room when we arrived. Milk & eggs in refrigerater, everything else on the counter, with the receipt from Fantasia Market.
So you are limited as to what you can get from the gift shop, prices weren't to bad & we would order again if we needed a few items & not a whole grocery list.
