Is there a nearby grocery store? What about a Bottle shop? We are not planning on renting a car.
Are there delivery services that will deliver right to our hotel? We are only going to DL for a few nights before our cruise and want to get some snacks for DL and beverages to take on board the ship

Maybe just from Vons. There is somthing odd about delivering alchohol because of ensuring your are. Somone else could answer that.

There is a liqour store, across the street from the SE corner of DLR resort and the SE corner of DLR resort. Depending on where you hotel is, it could be close to one of these.

I think you should rent a car to go to Vons, just for the fun of seeing real booze IN a grocery store. Since you use the term bottle shop, I figure that your state is like mine, and doesn't allow liquor to be sold in grocery stores... I'm from CA so I grew up with it, but hubby is from WA and every single time we go to a store in CA he has a moment of shock.

If you get it delivered from Vons and you're staying onsite, you might have to be there for the delivery, as the onsite hotels aren't accepting deliveries with alcohol from Vons (though they seem to be accepting deliveries from other stores with booze so it's confusing).

I feel the same way. I remember going to college and the convenience store near campus had beer in the coolers. I hit the floor when I fainted.

The very first time hubby saw it (he doesn't drink so even though he'd been to stores in CA before he never noticed it) he thought someone had made a huge and terrible mistake. That thought was very brief, of course, but it flittered across his brain..."ooh someone's going to be in TROUBLE..."



I did not know that DCL allowed you to bring your own booze! We've only cruised with RCCL and it's pretty darned against the rules there.

I'm from WA and it was a shock to us on our recent vacation. My mom gave my husband and I $200 and sent us to the grocery store to get snacks and drinks. We were like kids in the candy store! LOL. We kept saying "There's tequila and vodka right on the grocery store shelf!"

Yeah it is really is a great perk for people who drink. Certainly odd to people who have cruised before to go on DCL and hear this.

I think it is weird that knowing Disney's grab for dollars they allow you to bring a bottle of wine from a store to your cabin that they make $30 selling to you.

Thank you all so much for your replies! In our Province, in Canada, Beer and all alcohol are sold in liquor or beer stores. No alcohol at all in the grocery stores. If we can get snacks and adult beverages in one stop maybe we will just make a stop from the airport to the hotel.... we have not decided how we are doing that yet. Is there a Vons or another grocery store close to DL that we could walk or cab to?

There is one you can walk to, just not one you may want to walk to while you could be at the resort. Also maybe not where you would want to carry a couple cubes of beer from.


But if you take transportation that won't let you stop on the way from the airport to hotel. Yes worst case you can walk to a store.
