Where is a good place to pick up a few groceries (snacks, water, etc.) for our room? We'll be staying at the All Star Movies. I'd like to find somewhere (on the Disney property since we won't be renting a car) which won't break the bank.

I heard there is a grocery store on the Boardwalk...anyone been there?

We've used www.wegoshop.com everytime we've been there - we call them when we arrive at the hotel and they're usually there within an hour or so. They're very reasonable with their pricing and its SO worth it not having to go to the store while you're on vacation.

What a great idea - I never would've thought about that!

That's why I love DIS so much!!

The Boardwalk store is in essence a souvenir shop that has a refrigerator, frozen case, and grocery items in it...and all at Disney prices.

Actually, the Hess gas station behind Boardwalk has good prices on water and soft drinks. I think I paid 2.99 for a 12 pack of Coke in January.

We decieded to get stuff delivered this time instead of stopping along the way or haul it from an onsite store.
We went with www.gardengrocer.com because dis board people suggested it.
We ordered everything online two weeks ago (mostly the heavy stuff I don't want to take on the plane) and paid with pay pal (we will pay cash for the beer upon delivery.) They are to deliever it to our room early the day after we arrive (our choice.) There was a small mark up on some items but most were very fair and there was a 10 dollar delivery fee (not bad consitering gas costs lately.)
I can report back when we return about the service.

So what kind of stuff do you order? Cereal? Milk? Fruit? How do you plan for your stay?

We're going on our first WDW trip, staying at CR. We are DL regulars but always have a car. We won't have a car and were wondering how we would get stuff for breakfast, etc.

Thanks!

Here are the details ... we are a party of five adults and two teens ... we are staying on site for 11days/10nights (CBR.) We have 10 day tic. w/dinning.
I ordered mostly heavy stuff I did not want to bring on the plain ... 2 cases of bottled water, 2 packs of gatoraid, some V8 juice and those iced coffee drinks from Starbucks, fresh fruit (apples and bannanas) and two cases of light beer warm.
I am bringing cereal, oatmeal, chips, granola bars, coffee and other snacks with us (the bag that has that stuff in it then becomes our souvenir bag for going home.) Most of the stuff is for breakfast, one drink to bring to the park frozen each day, snacks in the room and evenings around the pool ... I do not bring food snacks to the park anymore because they were always wasted ... kids and adults want the park snacks, they look and smell yummy it is hard not to say "YES".
We shall return on June 5th and I will report back about this service.

Last year we bought from Wegoshop.com and they delivered to the room shortly after we arrived. The delivery cost was more than what was mentioned for gardengrocery.com so we my try that this year. We bought diapers, wipes, water, juice, donuts, snacks, fruit snacks. Easier that packing and bring with us.

Thanks Bronte!

How do you freeze your drinks? Is there room in your fridge for all this stuff? Do you order milk too? Can you fit enough for your trip in the fridge? We're going to be there for 11 days, family of five. I guess we could make a mid-tirp order. It has to be a better deal than buying stuff at DW. Do you have to be there to get it or can bell service put it in your fridge for you?

Sorry for all the questions. I just don't want to make any mistakes.

I think you can be absent when they deliver but we opted to be there ... we asked for a 6:45 am delivery so that we would still get to open MGM that morning for Star Wars Weekend.
As far as the frig. space it is not the smallest of the college type frigs. ... I would say it is a med. sized one (about up to my hip with a small freezer ... I think I will be able to freeze the bottled water the night before so that it can "thaw" during the day at the park, but I will let you know if it actually fits.) The size of the frig. is why we requested drinks that could be cooled down over night and the beer to be warm so that it does not go bad. I do have to say that I would not fully trust the room frigs though ... the first year they had them I brought down a bunch of frozen lunch meat thinking I would save alot but the frig. was very unreliable as far as cooling and most of the meat and cheese went bad ... though I must say I am a person that takes no chances w/food quality and am not willing to risk getting sick at Disney if you know what I mean. As for the milk I did not trust the delievery service to bring that either ... this is our first time with the service and I can just imagine if we got some warm milk and got sick I would never hear the end of it from DH (Hahah) I plan to goto the CBR's gift shop just before bed each night and get a half quart of milk (I think that was the size ... really enought for two teens w/their ceral, last year it was $1.75 or if we eat CS at the food court for lunch we will request milk with the meal and fill up our mugs w/coke saving the milk for the next morning ... we always get those mugs as souvenirs.)
Hope that answers all your questions ...
We are getting really excited over here ... just a little while longer ...

Does anyone know where is the closest grocery store, maybe International drive? we will have a rented car

I second using garden grocer. We used them at the beginning of the month and it was so nice not to go grocery shopping while on vacation!
