Groceries at Poly's giftshop/store?

We're heading to the Poly at the end of the month and I'm wondering if the gift shop offers milk, bread, juice, fruit etc. to take back to our room. Is it real expensive? We're on the ddp and our TA mentioned using our snack credits for breakfast items. I've cancelled my order w/Garden Grocer due to complete frustration w/them and I really don't know what to do. I've placed an order w/wegoshop but I am hesitant to use any service at this point. Maybe I'll send a package down w/all our breakfast items and just get milk at the Poly store.

Thanks for any info.

The selection in Trader Jacks is very limited. Pints of milk, beer, wine, soda, Disney themed snacks, and maybe some Entemanns donuts. No bread, no fresh fruit, etc. But you can get those things at Captain Cooks. The prices are higher than you would find at a grocery store.

Last month we made a grocery stop on our way to the Polynesian and bought cereal and snacks for the room. Then we bought pints of milk at Trader Jacks or cartons of milk from Captain Cooks. Having a quick breakfast worked well for our family and saved us some money too!

Have a great trip!

You could take the boat over to the WL or FW, the stores there have a much larger selection.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think the Poly had much. I never thought of WL or FW - w/the villas at WL and camping at FW that makes sense. Thank you both. We hope to have a great trip!

From what I hear Fort Wilderness does have a better grocery selection since they have campers shopping there. Maybe you could pack instant oatmeal packets, a box of cereal, some of those small easy open fruit cans and some cheap (i.e. disposable) plastic bowls and spoons in your luggage and then just buy fruit and milk?

Sorry I can not help with your original question as I have not been to Disney World as yet --- however, will be at the Poly in May 2008! I am though wondering, if you don't mind changing subjects, about your frustration with Garden Grocer as I had intended on using them myself!

I'm reevaluating what we really need & we may do this. Thanks for the suggestion - my biggest item is milk as my kids will not drink anything but skim milk so I'm not sure the resort offer that. Seems like its always 1%. Maybe my kids will just have to "rough it" and drink it :).

I'll posted the link below (I didn't start the thread but I posted 3 or 4 times). Basically they just didn't respond to 4 of my emails since July but yet they asked me to email them. One email they did respond to in June they said they never received. It may a real busy time for them right now so that maybe true but the way their customer service really is bad. But they may fix there problem - one might be have their customer service reps have some training.
