we didn't sign up for the dining plan. figured it was more than we would normally spend. we can do alot with a refrig and a hot pot.....with access to a microwave. anyways, any tips on getting groceries? where? what are their hours? best way to get there and back if no car?

We've never had a car at WDW, but we have picked up groceries on the way to our hotel from the airport.....a small stop was included in the price of our van ride. I almost always pack one small suitcase with granola bars, small boxes of cereal, fruit snacks, etc.....and then we have that suitcase for souveniers on the way home.

I have read good things about groceries that will deliver to hotels in the WDW area. I'm sure if you do a search, you can find the info......I don't have any firsthand experience.

If your kids eat Cherrios, get them at a store. WDW does not have Cherrios, much to the dismay of my DDs. We usually go to a Publix, the grocery store at Crossroads is way to expensive.

One thing we like is milk first thing in the morning (I am not a coffee drinker, but look out if I don't have chocolate milk). Get it at your resorts gift shop. The bottles are bigger and it costs less if you buy it in there than in the food court.

we also use garden groc. and they were really good they charge $10 for the first delivery and nothing if you use them again on the same trip and it was eazy go to the site order what you want and pick the time you want it and it will be there we had ours delivered to pop century and when we arrived we picked it up and went to our room.we will use them again on our next trip.

We go to the Publix or Walmart on hwy. 192. If you don't have a car, just go to the TTC (MK), and catch the Lynx bus (public transportation) #56. You can get a schedule at the WDW information booth. Buses run twice an hour. A single adult costs about $1.50 each way. The Publix is near Old Town, a 15 minute ride. Just tell the driver where you want to get off. There is a Walgreen drug store there as well. Walmart is about a half hour ride. No transfers needed. While off site, have lunch, shop at a flea market or factory outlet mall, all along 192, and see the free car cruise on Saturday night at Old Town. We get a fridge, but don't use a hot pot. Instead, we use the microwave oven in the food court. There are toasters there too.
