And if someone else is saying the opposite - well then - "it must be true"... :rotfl2:

No I did not say that but as a previous message already gave the official remarks from disney albeit after several requests! you still try and belittle other responders, it would seem you still have to be right? oh well never mind, I await your reply with more stupid smilies I expect.

I'm sorry, but I don't have a clue what you're talking about.. What official remarks from Disney? I was referring to the numbers of people who bring food into the parks and the numbers of people who are hauling large coolers around the parks on a daily basis.. Unless I missed it, I saw no "official remarks" from Disney stating what those numbers were on this particular thread..

As for my requests to Disney regarding food in the parks, it's not about being "right" - it's about getting specific questions answered.. Am I not allowed to email Disney with specific questions that require more than a computer-generated generic response?

Someone is having a baaaaaaad day.. :) That's okay - we all have them.. ;)

anytime you mention these cooler numbers I feel as though you are directing them at me as though I were not stating the truth as what we have seen. Kind of like "you've never seen it and the number must be inflated, since you haven't seen it.

Maybe that's how that poster feels.

No - I'm not directing it at you (actually I believe several people mentioned the same thing) and I certainly wasn't directing it at the poster. I'm not sure (so don't hold me to this) but I may have also mentioned a number of other things where I felt the numbers were inflated (such as the number of people who smoke outside of the designated smoking areas, etc.) - but then again, that may have been on a different thread..

As for the poster in question, he/she seems to be talking about two different things - the food policy (which I'm still waiting for an answer to) and my comment of inflated numbers of people hauling coolers, taking up all of the spaces at the outside tables, etc.. He/she seemed to be saying that someone had already posted an official response from Disney regarding the numbers and if that's the case, I didn't see it.. If it's here, I'd appreciate it if someone would give me the number of the post..

Anyhoo...still waiting for an answer for my specific questions and still getting computer-generated generic "we'll get back to you's".. It will be interesting to see if they ever do get back to me, but they may not want to put the answers to those very specific, very detailed questions out there in "writing"..

Time will tell.. :)

Hey CAnn!! I know you weren't directing anything at me, just wanted to offer a suggestion to the comment!!

In fact no matter whether we all agree or not, you along with DMRick are two posters who values and opinions matter to me!! We can all have different opinions - it's nice to hear someone other than yourself!

LOL - sometimes I don't even listen to my OWN opinions!! Right now I'm going through the tortures of heck trying to decide what kind of car to buy and I really, really would just like to send someone else out there to do it because I can't make up my mind for the life of me!!!!

:thumbsup2 Well here it is - Disney's response to my email.. My original message to them is at the bottom. I have taken out my email address and full name for privacy matters..

From: "Walt Disney World Guest Mail" <guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com>

Dear C. Ann,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Small coolers (that one person can carry) that will fit into theme park
lockers are allowed.
Coolers will be inspected for glass and alcoholic beverages, which are
not permitted. Please be
advised that this is a general policy only. Security personnel will
evaluate each cooler
individually, and there may be instances when even a small cooler will
be denied. Sandwiches,
pudding cups, and milk would be fine to bring in the park; however, we
do not have a picnic area for
you to dine. There are park benches situated throughout the park, but
not an actual dining area for
guests who bring their own food/snacks.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number
if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Julie Fry

Hopefully you can help me with some questions I have regarding your
policy on bringing food into the parks that has been purchased
elsewhere. I have searched all over your official site and have been
unable to find the answers that I need. I have found vague references
to "snacks", but to me a snack might be an apple, where as to a full
grown man it might be a triple-decker sandwich. Do you have any
specific guidelines that you follow in determining what is or isn't
classified as a snack?

While I understand that alcoholic beverages and glass containers are
absolutely prohibited, the area of food and other beverages is
extremely vague. Would a small cooler containing sandwiches, pudding cups and several small cartons of milk be permissable? Are there lockers
available in the parks where these coolers can be stored until we're
ready to eat? Also, what type of seating is available for those who
bring their own lunches into the parks with them?

Any specific clarification you could provide would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you!
C. Ann

Now it will be interesting to see what kind of reply DMRick receives when she returns from Ireland, as I'm sure she worded her questions differently..

So it appears that food from the outside (normally referred to by Disney as a "snack") covers a pretty broad area and there are in fact lockers available for small coolers - which will be inspected prior to admittance..

I should have been a little more clear when asking about the "eating areas" (should have said something specific about outdoor tables, but perhaps DMRick did) so as it stands now, there are "park benches situated throughout the park but not an actual dining area for guests who bring their own food/snacks..

-------------------------

Make of it what you will, but it appears that they have come right out and said that bringing food and beverages from the outside is permissable and not a single word was mentioned in regards to dietary restrictions, etc..

C.Ann..here I am in Ireland..a great flight..and I'm soom to have a nice nap to play catchup. It's 5 hours ahead here. I posted my letter several days ago. My questions were more specific than yours, I don't ahe it here, of course to show)I asked them to not guess as I wanted official policy, and I was willing to wait for it...and I asekd about eating areas, and specifically asked where we could eat, either a snack, or dietary, etc..and it wasn't addressed.. I got a much more bland answer than you did LOL.

Glad to hear you had a safe trip.. 5 hours ahead? Ugh! I would definitely need a nap!!

Did you post your response on this thread? If you did, I missed it.. I found mine to be quite interesting and although it didn't address the "table" situation, I think it clearly addressed the fact that people are allowed to bring their own food into the parks.. ;)

so you got one answer and I got another...which CM is right? Mine mentioned the dietary needs issue.

Which goes right back to what I was originally saying - they don't have an "official" policy - simply because they know it would end up losing them money in the grand scheme of things.. ;)
