Gripe about room requests / confirmations

At OKW, near HH isn't a request, it's a booking category...

Far more often than not I've had requests granted, and often the CM checking me in notes that they've met my request when the villa isn't ready...I've even, frequently, had requests I didn't make granted...for example, I frequently take friends and book them a separate villa. I never request to be near the friends...no resort is so big that the distance between where they stay and where I stay matters much to me...I love my friends, but need "my space" too so a little distance doesn't bother me at all. Most of the time, the CM makes a point of telling me they've "met my request" to have villas "close" (usually next to) each other...

I don't care all that much, but this last trip they took my "non-request" to be next to each other as more important than my "real" request (ground floor) and put us next to each other on the 4th floor. I asked if there was something open on the ground floor...there was, but then she started trying to move my friends, too...I had to insist that it just wasn't necessary (and my friends prefer higher floors)...

So, I agree that requests for anyone but Sammie are one of the "mysteries of the DVC universe." However, since they are just requests and not guarantees, this goes into the category if "life's too short; not gonna stress about this one."

Has anyone requested the "boardwalk green" view at BWV and gotten it? Those are the rooms facing the Boardwalk Inn. I had requested it once, and MS hadn't heard of it.

Near HH category is buildings 11-14 and 23-26. There are other buildings close to the HH that are in the general category that can be requested.

It's Village Green. They are only studios (pool/garden view). There is a 1 bedroom on the corner that is considered boardwalk view.

Thanks for the correction/clarification of "near HH"--but what does the booking CM "think" when you say "near HH?" DO they (as I did) immediately flip to the booking category? Or can you say "close to HH (but not the booking category)" or do you have to request by building number?

Seriously curious about you'd go about making this request w/out using the phrase "near HH?"

I'd say "near main pool" or list the building #'s. Elevator building (62, 63, 64) is also popular.
