How bad is this ride in terms of motion sickness (for those with that problem). My daughter gets motion sickness (threw up on the Simpsons ride, for comparison). I don't want her to skip all the fun rides, but it's not fun to have a barfing kid at the park. She does better on rides like the "Mummy" that are less visual. (For the record, the Simpsons made me a little queasy too).

Any help appreciated.

I had a hard time on Simpsons and despicable me, but did fine on gringotts. I used to have issues with FJ several years ago. But I can ride that fine now.

My 88 year old mother rode Gringotts. It is an easy ride.

Gringotts was ok for me, but Forbidden Journey really did me in - and I'm not a person who gets motion sick!! After Forbidden Journey, I had a rough time with Spiderman and The Simpsons, too, it was the first time I've ever had that kind of reaction on a ride, and for it to linger was just crazy.

But Gringotts was our first ride of the day and it didn't really bother me.

Good luck!!

I had no issues on it at all. I have to wear motion sickness bands for FJ and can't do Storm Force for comparison. As for Simpsons, I have to close my eyes at times.

My daughter doesn't get motion sickness but complained about her head hurting from Simpsons, Transformers, and Spider Man. She had no problems on Gringotts either. (And no problems on Mummy at all - she did that one several times).

Just got back from our trip and I felt awful on the Simpson's ride. It was my least favorite. But Gringotts was fine for me. Loved it.

Gringotts isn't a motion sickness inducing ride at all. It's very tame, you move along a track for the most part but it's more gentle swooshing than anything.

Simpsons I cannot do even with any kind of medication.......it's a bad one for lots of people. I can do every other ride in both parks fine.

But you should be fine with Gringotts.

How do any of the rides like this, especially Gringotts and Forbidden Journey, compare with Star Tours?

Gringotts and FJ are different from Star Tours as they both move on a track. In FJ, ride seats are actually on a robotic arm. It is not 3D. It's like nothing I have ever experienced...but fun! Gringotts is more of a mild roller coaster with 3D. I don't get motion sickness unless something spins a lot. I do however get a headache, like a sinus headache from 3D. I get it even in 3D movies so it has nothing to do with the motion.

My wife will be at Universal on MLK day with her sister with a focus of doing all the HP stuff. Her head was a little funny coming off of Star Tours back in August so I was trying to see what problems she might have. She also has problems with spinning. I've told her to wear her SeaBands so hopefully that will be enough.

As for Simpsons, I have to close my eyes at times.
Physical motion bothers me more than simulated motion, so the short drop at the start of Gringotts is a bit bothersome for me. I do find on the simulators that some well-timed shutting of the eyes right before a big swoop downward really helps a lot if I am feeling queasy. That's something the rider can control (if they are old enough to understand and do it).

I get very very nauseated on Simpsons. My family loves it so I just close my eyes and ride along. I think the dialogue is so funny so it gives me something to do. Anyway - Gringotts was doable for me the first time. We wound up riding basically three times in a row. The second time, I was kinda done. After round three, I was full on sick. It really depends so much on the individual. I also feel that if I have not eaten well, eaten too many sweets, or maybe have not had enough fluids I can get more sick.

I know this is going to sound weird but... On our last trip, after three days of the park, all of the sounds, smells, etc were getting to me a bit much for me. I don't normally have issues with overstimulation but started to be bothered by it. (Maybe my kids are correct and I'm just old! ) the rides were feeling very LOUD to me so I put in earplugs. I found that after that, I got much less nauseated on the rides! Not sure of the science behind it but it may be worth a shot if your daughter will wear them. Being sick at the parks is no fun!

The noise gets to me as well, especially the constant music everywhere you go. I don't find Universal nearly as bad as Disney in that aspect, and Universal's music is less annoying. Earplugs are a great idea!

How does Gringott's compare to Animal Kingdoms Dinosaur ride?

How does Gringott's compare to Animal Kingdoms Dinosaur ride?

I'd say Gringott's feels more like a moving simulator crossed with a fairly tame coaster (there is a short drop at the beginning but it isn't as bad as you anticipate). It is (obviously) much more modern, more immersive, and to be honest, pretty damn spectacular. Even the queue itself is worth waiting in.

I've got a soft spot for Dinosaur. Back in 2005, we rode it as a family and my Dad was really jumpy with all of the loud noises and sudden lights showing dinosaurs right near you. I enjoyed it and will always have good memories of it.

I went back on it in Oct 2015 and I still love it. Sure, some of the pre-show looks a little dated, but this time it was myself and my partner, and she had never previously been to WDW. My parents and other members of the family were in the park but we didn't ride together.

In terms of ride experience, apart from the small drop in Gringott's, I'd say if you are happy on Dinosaur you won't have a problem on Gringotts. I actually think some of Dinosaur is a little more 'jumpy' due to how loud it is. Gringotts doesn't feel as tight and claustrophobic.

Thank you! I love the Dinosaur ride and I really want to go on Gringotts, I don't like traditional roller coaster due to the drops so I hope Gringotts doesn't get me sick!

How does Simpsons compare motion wise to Star Tours?

Definitely worse. I have no issues with Star Tours but can only do The Simpsons once per trip and need recovery time afterwards. That and Forbidden Journey get me every time.
