Ok I though that the Aerosmith ride didn't have shoulder bars but it must have been that the CM told just just to put our bags at our feet and I was surprised we went upside down due to that. I thought all of our stuff would fly out. Lol

Actually, Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa also is lap restraint only, and does a full loop, so apparently not required. And it is basically a kiddie coaster with a loop, not a major coaster.

I don't think Gringotts will have a loop. I think it might have a corkscrew to be movie accurate but it might not.

The carts you sit in remind me a lot of revenge of the mummy coaster. I bet it will have some fast parts like the mummy, and I can definitely see a corkscrew happening like in the movie, just as the post above me suggests.

Yay physics! I leave my bag at my feet (looped around a leg) on California Screamin' whenever I ride and it hasn't fallen out yet. Physics pushes it to the floor. The only times it gets a little lighter is in the bunny jumps or whatever the little up/downs are called.

I don't know. I doubt it'll have a corkscrew. That's also an inversion, and isn't this ride supposed to be "less intense" than the Forbidden Journey? I personally just don't see it happening, but I guess we'll find out soon!

Seems like the 42" height restriction and the "family" designation would lead one to believe there would not be inversion, but I suppose it's possible.

I agree - with Mummy and FJ both having a minimum height of 48", I imagine this is going to be a little more "tame" than those.

This ride just has minor coaster elements and some track trickery. It has the same motion base as Spiderman.

There will not be any loops so no upside down,this ride is supposed to be tamer then forbidden journey.

that's good.. although I didn't ride Forbidden Journey. Nebo rode it first. when he got off his report was "I f I told you you would like it and you rode it, when you got off you would kill me"

Seth Kubersky's twitter feed posted some photos of the test seats for Gringotts. It does appear to be identical to the Mummy design, i.e., you will need to squeeze into the space between the lap bar's two support legs. Also I noticed the red/green lights inside the car. I assume the green light will illuminate once the lap bar has come down to its minimum safe locking position.

Yea I read on one if the sites that it may be a tight squeeze for some people.. I am sure it won't be as bad a FJ was as it is different.

Yes, if the ride stops while you're inverted, you'll need those shoulder harnesses. But, assuming the ride operates as intended, centripetal acceleration will keep you in your seat, even when you're upside down.

The shoulder harness is in case of emergency. Outside of an emergency, a lap belt would suffice.

Even in an emergancy, a well designed lap bar is totally safe upside down. As you can see, those people are hanging upside down by just a lap bar. The coaster g force at Drayton Manor in the UK demonstrates that by replacing the lift hill with a lift loop.
