We use the card "trick" but take it out and put it onto the shelf in the closet when we leave. I use a different card than my room card so that I don't accidently leave it behind and don't have to struggle to get it out when I return especially after dinner when it's dark. I just open the closet door and pop it back in.

Here's a tip. Put a magnet on the back of the card. Then you can just stick it to the space above the card slot.

Interesting. I thought that the whole point of the splash zone (Nemo's Reef or whatever) was for the kids who weren't potty trained to have somewhere to go and be wet since apparently that's a big thing for most people.

I once had a CM challenge me about having a swim-diaper clad little in Nemo’s Reef. I knew the rules and politely challenged her. Turns out she was a Youth Activies CM and not a lifeguard, so not well-versed on the specifics in that area. She checked with them and they said it was fine. We all went about our business peacefully.

But I agree with another person below who said these are not OCD but rather being a decent, considerate person. But still on point.
Here's mine:

Do they realize the baby's pee and poo can seep thru the diaper? I don't care how tight those diapers are. They leak. I've had a baby and I know.
I call staff each time and I see a baby with a swim diaper in the pool. I explain the incredible health hazard it is. Sorry. (now that's being a grinch!)
Once I saw a baby with a streak of liquid poo oozing down the 'swim diaper' down the thigh. I called the 'life saver' and pointed at the diaper and the woman with said baby. The woman was madly glaring at me. Needless to say, they closed the pool and did their cleaning routine, emptying it, etc, thus depriving or other kids of enjoying the pool for at least a 3-4 of hours.
Please: DO NOT put your babies in the pools with diapers.
And DCL: Please issue a new rule that no swim diapers are allowed in the pools. Those things are a huge health hazard. Poo and pee carry 1000x more germs than the hands DCL is so obsessed with having to be washed prior to entering the restaurants.

It is. But people seem to feel free to ignore it just like they ignore rules for: no seat saving, adult-only activities/area (not counting walk-throughs on the Dream class...though I maintain unless you are in Concierge, you CAN walk down the hall to the midship elevators), hand-washing, etc.

I feel like this is something that started out as pixie dust, is gaining momentum, and may soon be such an obstacle that the practice will be shut down - kind of like how characters used to autograph things turned in at GS. And for heavens sakes, I hope if you do have your wait staff running all over to get you a non-menu item, you're generous with your tipping. In the meantime, please try to be happy with what you're offered.

I've never asked because I like trying the items at each restaurant, but if that's correct I'm not sure this really is any kind of issue for the server or DCL.

I went on a Galley tour on the Magic so many years, that I do not recall if they have more than one galley. The Dream and Fantasy absolutely do have 2, one on deck 2 for Enchanted Garden and one on deck 3 for Royal and Animators. And, even though the 2 MDRS share a galley, it is divided into 2 sections, so if you request something from Royal while dining in Animators, then your server or assistant server has to make a special trip to the other side of the galley.

On the card thing, I don't understand how pulling it out conserves resources? I would think the ship's engines generate the same amount of usable electric current whether every light on the ship is turned on or off. Electricity is naturally generated by the alternator whether it's being used or not. Just like your car doesn't use more gasoline just because your headlights are on.

Fewer lights, a/c off, fans off and outlets/tv off will have the cabin use little to no power so power is saved. The heavier the load (draw) on an alternator the higher the fuel demand. And yes your car does use more gas with your headlights on than with off. The accessory belt may be turning no faster the alternator but the alternator will require more torque to turn at that same speed with a higher draw.

I guess all cars are different. My vehicle alternator puts out the same amount of usable current (up to a max), regardless of how many devices are on or off.

Each restaurant has it's own galley. For example, on the Magic, Lumiere's connects with Rupunzel's so they could get from one kitchen to another easily (there is even a back way up to Animators and Palo) but they do have to wait on line with other servers to grab that those extra dishes so instead of going through one line to get all their orders, they have to double their wait time to grab the extra food. (Sometimes they have the assistant server do it or at times the Head Server can get it done more quickly but either way, it is taking time that could be spent out on the floor with other guests.)

Not saying people shouldn't request it or take advantage if the server offers. Just giving perspective that it does take some extra work. (I do on occasion request something from another restaurant - I try to do it in advance so that it can be sent over to the restaurant we are dining at rather than the server chasing it down.)

One of the points of cruising is the over the top service. If a server is offering, there’s no reason to not say yes just bc of some made up rule you have in your head.

During the Pirate night, everyone sat on deck and everyone had a great view...AMEN to that.

Fun with fire hazards!!! We were standing (bc sitting on the ground hurts) half an hour before the show started and got yelled at. We chose to leave the entire area. I have no interest in being seated and awkward in an area where who knows what might happen.

And I’m used to Disneyland where they have people stand for fireworks. (Unless you’re back by small world, but there are far fewer people watching back there).

Swim diapers aren’t about pee. Pee goes right through. Not sure why anyone would think that swim diapers are meant to hold pee. Swim diapers are about poop.

As others have said, there’s a long standing rule already in place.

We use the hotel key trick, but only turn the lights on when we're in the room. It's much easier than getting card out of lanyard.

Some how there is a disconnect between the posted rule of no swim diapers and the availability to buy then on the ship. If DCL wouldn't sell them, parents couldn't buy them.

There are other places during a cruise to use swim diapers than in the pool. Ocean. Excursions. And splash zone.

We didn’t cruise with a baby or toddler and we almost exclusively used reusable rather than disposable swim diapers. And I knew my son’s “potty” signals (he might as well have turned purple when “going”) so if he ever didbees to go I coins have gotten him out in time. BUT to not have the diapers for sale could really mess up a cruise for people with littles, even if they had no plans whatsoever to use the pool.
