Well, since we bought a full size Foreman grill over six months ago, we have not used our gas grill at all. Well, the DMIL is in town and wanted to make us a traditional German meal with grilled sausages, so I went outside to fire it up. To my surprise, someone had moved in!!! (Squeamish Beware!!!)

It seems that it had moved in long enough ago to shed since.

My DMIL had her camera close and I was able to get these shots quickly. I went in to grab my K100D, but it ran away before I got back. Needless to say, we used the Foreman again tonight. Snakes do not scare any of us and we have a pet one, but that was a little too gross for us to use without cleaning it well.

Yikes! When we had a grill(we've since become vegetarians) the only things that took up residence were bees. The snake is lucky he wasn't below where you couldn't see him before you fired it up. He might have gotten a wee bit burned.

there are great grilled veggies recipes.

Yikes!!! We had a bird that tried to nest in our grill last year, it was very persistent too!

Aww, how cute! For a snake, at least. :) He looks harmless, he's probably dirtied the grill a lot less than the spiders that like to crawl into our grill over the winter and spin webs by the burners.

I did find a shedded snakeskin once when mowing the yard last year and brought it into the garage, but I haven't found any snaked in the garage yet, and only very rarely outside by the house. I don't mind 'em as long as they keep their teeth to themselves. :teeth:

Now, if I was a snake, I'd want somewhere cozier than a grill - I wouldn't think that it'd be very comfortable. But then again, I'm not a snake!

I did not even realize it until looking at the images right now. Look what brand the grill tools are... Disney. We are some sick puppies!

I have a friend who had 2 dogs which were kept in the backyard, well he would feed the dogs about 10 feet from the grill. A nice family of rats decided to eat and store pieces of the dry dogfood in the grill. It must have been a pretty good place to eat! I have never eaten anything grilled from there again.

Thats a shame. As a BBQ/Grill nut I could not go that long without using my grill. The smoker is one thing. Hard to maintain a 250º temp when its 10º out, but the grill gets used year round, even in snow storms.

The only things I haven't grill are breakfast or baked goods. Though now that I finally got around to buying a cast iron skillet I may try breakfast o the grill too. Meat and veggies are great on the grill. Especially corn in the husks. Grilled summer squash, zuchini, peppers and onions are a big hit as well. Portobello mushrooms are great when grilled. Made a grilled pizza the other game. YUMMMMMY

Ok, I've taken this off topic far enough.....

mmmmm snake....

Better you than me! Another reason why Florida is NOT where we will retire!

ugh...I would have run fleeing into the night. "It had to be snakes."

We used to have a mouse problem in our bbq. I remember one time I had a houseful of guests ready for some grilling. I opened up the bbq and noticed the nest of mice right away. Ugh. One of my houseguests volunteered to get rid of them so I got her some leather work gloves. Well, those little things move fast. As soon as she put her hand in the next, a gazillion little rodents practically FLEW out of the bbq. They were even climbing up on the brick of the house. Some kids on the deck started screaming until I pushed them into the house. Meanwhile my friend, who had been very brave until now, started screaming about one of the mice being caught in the cuff of her sleeve. She started dancing around the deck shaking her arm. Finally, we got the bbq cleaned up, the mice were released in the back yard. I cleaned up the bbq and decided... this is one of the times I was going to preheat the grill for a very long time. I started up the bbq and one last (and slow) mousie jumped out and ran away. Twas quite the eventful bbq. :rotfl:

There's only one mouse I want at my house and that's Mickey. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Very funny story. I wonder why people are so afraid of mice?
