Grilled cheese sandwich?

My 3-year old son has Asperger's and is a very picky eater due to texture aversion. One of the foods he will eat is a grilled cheese sandwich, which we can usually find on the kids' menu at any restaurant we normally dine at. However, I'm not seeing it on menus at WDW...at sit-down restaurants, do you think we can get that made for him?

In the meantime, I have between now and September to get him to eat chicken nuggets. (you heard right -- I have the only child in America that doesn't eat chicken nuggets ;) )

Here is a link for you to check out. http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm#diets I hope it has some information that will help you. Also, you might try calling the Disney dining number listed as they may be able to verify if they could make a grilled cheese sandwich for your son. Enjoy your trip! :)

I am pretty sure that The Plaza Restraurant (MK) still has grilled cheese on the kids menu. My kids (both big and little) have gotten it many times and say it's pretty good.

The Kona Cafe at the Poly had grilled cheese on the kids menu when we were there in July 2003. My DD had it and really liked it . It a nice place to eat away from the parks

Sci Fi Dine In made one for my daughter. Can't remember if it was on the menu or if they just did it for us. They always say at the places that make ps' they will try to accomodate special dietary needs, call the dining number and ask and see what they say.

I am a grilled cheese sandwich fan also. I special ordered one at the WL fast food area once and they gladly made it for me. It was not on the menu. I believe most places at WDW would do so if they have the bread and cheese available. Mine came with fries and cost somewhere in the $5 range.

What I would do is make a list of the restaurants you are interested in eating at. When you have narrowed it down to the ones that you know you would like to try call the restaurant and discuss your son's food concerns with the people there just like you would if he had a food allergy. I don't know off the top of my head what the phone numbers are but I know Deb has all that information on allearsnet.com.

Now I need one and a bowl of tomato soup. :goodvibes :wizard: :)

I bet they would make you one, about anywhere, as long as they had the fixings. I would go with what MSTEDDOM said and call ahead, and speak with the rest. you wish to go to

A friend of ours went to cape may buffet, and there was very little he could eat due to allergies. THey grilled him his own steak (which I believe he said was not even on the menu. I think they do try to please

Tara I had a grilled cheese only son when he was 3. When we went to Disney we found almost every retaurant was willing to make a grilled cheese even it was not on the menu(the counter service restaurants did not have them if I remember- but we did even order a cheeseburger without the burger once when we were desperate.keep that one in mind.) good luck and I think you will be able to find it if you ask.
