Grilled Cheese at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop

We ate at Sanaa for Lunch and were still very full. We had a reservation for 8:15 pm at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. I ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich. It usually comes with Tomato Soup, but I opted for the sandwich only. I don't know what kind of bread or cheese they used for the sandwich, but it was the worst grilled cheese sandwich I have eaten in my 70 years of life. The bread was burned on the edges, and the cheeses did not taste good together. Altogether a not so pleasant dining experience. Be careful here.

My kids love the grilled cheese here. The other dishes that we’ve had are great as well. The only knock I could give was service was a bit slow but nothing that would keep me from returning.

Sorry you had that experience, OP. IMHO, B&C makes one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. I try to re-create them at home but it's so much better to have the real thing, right before digging into a Kitchen Sink!

Has anyone had the grilled cheese at Woody's Lunchbox? I was going to grab one when there in 2 weeks and my son loves grilled cheese. We couldn't get a B & C ressie but it is what it is.

Never had the grilled cheese there but I had a burger that was awful. Burnt, looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for days.

I've read many reviews on the B&C, and many report that the food isn't anything to write home about.
The ice cream is the big deal there.
Seven of us made a reservation and ordered the Kitchen Sink Sundae. It wasn't the best ice cream I've ever had, but it wasn't bad either. I'm from Texas, so Blue Bell has ruined me for other types of ice cream. I will say that we enjoyed the experience, and we wouldn't mind doing it again.

Since the renovation I find beaches and cream is not the same. The grilled cheese is usually made on brioche with three kinds of cheese. It’s usually a safe bet. Perhaps with limited me yesterday they have changed out the usual bread or cheeses. Disappointing. Beaches and cream used to be a must do for lunch but since the renovation we had a bad meal and won’t be back.

I loved the GC there also! And the breakfast bowl is fantastic!!

I've only ever gotten the reuben at B&C, and it was good - not the best but quite acceptable. I've been burned in the past (no pun intended) with various restaurant's grilled cheese sandwiches and especially their tomato soups - not at WDW but other places. Unless the menu specifies the cheeses and breads used I don't even attempt to order it.

My daughter and I split the grilled cheese sandwich when we were there in December and we both really enjoyed it. It allowed me to save room for the No Way Jose sundae

The B&C grilled cheese hasn't been good since they reopened unfortunately. I don't know why but I've ordered it twice and both were pretty blah.

Also, make sure to specifically ask for real ice cream for your shakes or they'll serve you that artifical shake mix stuff. Classy.

I should probably post a thread on this (or maybe I did? can't even remember now), but since the remodel, they switched to shake mix. My wife mentioned a certain "creaminess" to the shake with the cupcake on it. Then I ordered a chocolate shake from the to-go window a different time and noticed it, too, so I took it back up and the nice lady told me they use the shake mix now but to simply ask them to make it with real ice cream and they'll do it for me. A few other people in line heard this and did the same. I was initially suspicious when they handed me the shake barely 15 seconds after I paid, an impossible feat resulting in a properly made milkshake.

I need to be clear: I have NO complaints about the cast members at all. They even told me, when I asked, that it was changed when they did the remodel. It's just another lame cheap-out by management to squeeze an extra buck out of guests by diminishing the overall product even further. Previous Disney would never had done something like this, but this is the reality nowadays.

The moral is, B&C is still a good place (other than the currently tasteless grilled cheese), but be sure to ask for REAL ICE CREAM any time you order a shake or any other ice cream beverage.
