Hello CBers! :) Today was moving day for us. We said goodbye to the Contemporary and headed over to our new "home". We were all packed up and the bell-hop came before 10. We took the bus and headed over to MGM. Crowds haven't been too bad. This park is easier since most attractions we like are shows where a lot of people can watch at the same time.

First stop was Sounds Dangerous. It was the first time we saw it and it was ok. The kids liked it so that helped. They liked playing the machines at the end. DH & I did one of the sound tapings and he ad-libbed. Don't give up your day job sweetie. :)

We had ps for the Sci Fi and we went and checked in 30 minutes early - they took us almost immediately - yay! DH & I had burgers and onion rings - yum! All of us love this place - the movies are so bad they are good.

Then to the Walt Disney show. We all love this and spend a lot of time walking through the pre-show. What makes me sad with this show is that the theatre is never even half-full whenever we see it. It should be mandatory for all guests so they can see the man behind the mouse.

We also went on the backlot tour. They are still doing the special effects from the Pearl Harbor movie. We liked walking through the prop area. Catastrophe Canyon was still good but the tour itself seemed shorter..??? You no longer get to see the Golden Girls House...they are constructing a new stunt show back behind there and it should be ready in about a year. Do you think the people in the costume creating rooms can see the trams go by? You would think that would be distracting.

We saw the Millionaire show...walked right in. I like this one, but I admit that I go slow on the answers since I never want to be in the hot seat. :) Some time we want to hang out on Mickey Blvd. so we can be part of call a stranger.

There were lots of different characters out by the sorcerers hat when we walked by. The kids got popcorn and we headed to the ferry to go to the Boardwalk. It took a while to check in but we finally got our room - our bags arrived soon afterwards. We are on the 4th floor just above Spoodles. We have a great view of the Yacht/Beach Club and the Boardwalk area.

We hung out for a bit and DH took a nap. We then went to Spoodles for dinner and walked right in without a ps. DH had the tuna and I had the fettucinne and both were great.

On to EPCOT! It was 7:30 by this point so we didn't have much time. We rode on Spaceship Earth. DH doesn't like the guy in the Egyptian scene - the bald guy with the feather fan - have you ever looked him in the eye? Creepy! We tried to wake the monk up but he kept sleeping. I keep trying to get DH to get a Roman gladiator costume but he just rolls his eyes at me. We always look for the hidden mickey on the table near the guy who mixes the paint. And ah, the smell of fire and brimstone - ewwww! One of my favorite scenes is when you make the slight turn and look up to see Earth - very nice effect. No more global neighborhood - it is all blocked off and you can only walk out. We did notice they had blocked one of the at&t signs on the ride.

We walked through Mouse Gear a bit but didn't buy. Checked Test Track but even at 8:30 there was a 60 minute wait. On to Mexico for one of DD5's favorite rides. DH & I don't like those marionettes on the carousel in the room with the fireworkson the ceiling.

It was getting close to Illuminations so we started walking back toward the International Gateway. It had started right as we were passing the Rose & Crown. I had to stop to tie my sneaker so we all stood by the fence to the right of the restaurant.

Special Disney Magical Moment - While we were standing there a CM tapped DH on the shoulder and asked if we wanted to see the fireworks from a special place. He then took the rope down and led us to the back to a balcony and we got the BEST view of all the fireworks. It was sooooo great!!! I got all choked up. :) There were a few of us there and we made a point to thank the cm as we were leaving.

Back to the Boardwalk we watched entertainer Randy juggle three lit torches and a bowling ball - fun. :) If you have never been to the Boardwalk area you should really check it out - it's another world. If you have only been here during the day, try it sometime at night - very nice.

I have been asked many times what I like best about Disney and I don't really know. Best thing is just being here. I love the sights, the sounds, and all the activinty. As I look out over the balcony now I can see the YC all lit up...I can hear people below as they pass by...it's late and I haven't seen a ferry go by lately. While we were coming back we could see Wishes while looking out over the water. Cool.

Folks, the Magic is still here! :)

Ahh, Jill. When we stayed at Boardwalk Inn, we experienced much of the same magic you speak of. Thanks for the memories and thanks so much for sharing:D Am glad you are having fun!

We're having some pretty nice weather in Orlando now, so enjoy yourself :)

BTW...my daughter loves the Mexico ride, and I can't STAND that room with the fireworks and creepy dolls :)
