I was just wondering how everyone greets fellow dISer's. Do you just say "hi I'm a "dISer" to". Do you not say anything. Do some of you not like to be singled out(closet diser's). Just wondering what the proper edict would be if I happen upon a fellow Dise'r at the world. If you see my green Micky feel free to say "HI" :wave2: . I'm always up for meeting new people from diffrent places.

We really haven't seen anyone for the Dis yet. We keep looking for the lime ribbons or Mickey heads but haven't come across any. There is no telling what we would do, but most likely we would delay too long and the opportunity would go away.

DW and I will have our lime green mickey head on our backpack, just hi there Dis'er, looking forward to meeting as many Dis'ers as we can. This will add a new entry to our Disney journel. :cool1:

I always try to say 'hi'...if I'm close by, I'll just say 'DIS??' If someone has something lime green hanging off 'em, I'm assuming they want to be recognized. Well, except for that one lady I said 'hello' to at Soarin' a year ago...she had the lime green Mickey head, lime green ribbons..the whole thing going on. When I said 'Hi, love the DIS stuff.' she just looked at me like I had 25 heads and continued talking to her friend. But, other that that, people have been quite happy to be recognized.

I have lime green Mickey heads and lime green ribbons hanging from my stroller and my backpack. I always hope a fellow Disser will stop and say hello, but so far I've only met one Disser (at Spectromagic) and it was by accident. If you see us (July 12-27) please feel free to stop and say hello! I'll be wearing a pink plaid LeSportsac mini backpack with lime green ribbons hanging from it.

I saw someone a few trips back in the Living Seas with a lime green Mickey head. My BF practically had to push me over to ask "Are you a DISborder?". She said yes, I mentioned I recognized the lime green Mickey, then felt really stupid and walked away!

Last Christmas at the Beach Club, PB'sMOM had a sign on her room door saying hello to fellow DISboard members. I grabbed a pen and signed it, but to my knowledge we never saw each other!

My trip is not until Sept however, i am planning my mickey head design already! i will probably put it on my handbag-- and maybe my hotel window (DH might not be too happy about that one! :rotfl2: ) i might even make some luggage tags!

I think i will put my screen name on it........come up to me and say hi--- i dont mind! why else would someone wear them if they dont want you to say hello?!

looking at someone like they have 25 heads it quite rude IMO especially when you are wearing "the gear"!

"DO YOU DIS?" :thumbsup2

I have been sure to wear a lime green ribbon from my sun hat every year for the past 2-3 trips and never saw another. Maybe people just thought I was wearing lime green in my hair (Although it was the only lime green thing or matching thing that went with last year) This year I may get a little more obvious but still not embarrass my traveling partners. Anyways if you see me (Minnesota/Irish pale skin with a lime green ribbon off my hat) please say hi! I may just start laughing but I won't think you're weird or rude ~ Some people think I'm half a bubble off anyway (especially in my yearly trips to WDW)

Looks like you`ll be there when we will :cool1: if I see you i`ll be sure to say 'Hi' !

You know....I never have seen anyone...and believe me..I've looked. Perhaps since we're there so much, I should purchase something lime green. :thumbsup2

You Know, I've always wondered about that myself! I was a DIS'r the last time we went to WDW in 2000 and I never saw anyone with our lovely shade of green on! and believe me, I LOOKED! I plan on having lots of lime on this time so if anyone sees me...please feal free to say "HI"! I love to meet people who are similarly obsessed! Don't forget to wear the Green everyone! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Well last year was my first official DIS trip. And on day one we met a couple from NJ as we got into an elevator. They were talking to us about their kids(how they had 7) and I for sure thought it was DISNEYMOMX7(as I knew she was at the GF at the same time we were) and with the 7 kids -they brought only 3 with...ect... I thought oh yeah this is disneymom so I get up my courage and say "are you Disneymom?" and they looked at me like I was a lunatic. Obviously not disneymomx7 :guilty:
But then in the Barber shop we saw a family with the tie dye Mickey shirts that everyone was making last year and I thought OH YEAH!!! but DH said "oh no not again" so I didn't say anything. Came back here and found out it was a fellow diser and she said her BIL had made the shirts and he would have loved to have someone notice them!!! So If I see Green I am coming at ya!!!! Look out!

I would probably go up to them and say "Do you ever go online to the DIS boards?" In all my WDW/DL visits, I've yet to see any lime green anything - I keep hoping.

But if you see a frazzled looking 40ish woman at WDW in mid-July, wearing a lime green Lilo baseball cap - be sure to say hello, it could be me! :cool1:

We were there this past Dec and I wore a black T shirt with a lime Mickey head too. I was asked about it many times, but nobody had heard of the disboard. My kids were excited to meet the characters but I was excited to meet you. No luck !!!! I did see a family from a distance that were wearing the tie-dyed Mickey T-shirts but I didn't have a chance to say anything. I'll be little more obvious next time ! My husband said he felt so sad for me becuse I'd put so much effort into it . :sad1:

Lime green is now an IN color so there are so many others wearing it other than us DISers. I always ask, if they look a bit friendly. Getting a no and a strange look sure beats missing out on meeting a fellow DISer! :thumbsup2

Our local Target has lime green visors on sale. I bought one for each member of our EWP Suite. (shhhh, don't tell as I have not mailed some out yet) :rotfl2:

I get more hits off my DIS button than my t shirt and my t shirt is a large size and surely must be easy to see. :confused3

I still believe that we should all get lime green sunvisors (easy to see above the crowd) with one of those interactive buttons it that lights up and plays "IASW" whenever one DISer is nearby. :cheer2:

Slightly Goofy who will be looking for you in Sept/Oct

Well I hope someone says Hi or something to me so that my hubby knows that there really are other Disers out there :thumbsup2

We'll be there June 19-25 at POFQ. If I don't forget, I'm going to go get my green mickey head from Home Depot! I'll be the gal with the maroon Mississippi State University sunvisor on with a mickey head hangin off of it. That is if it doesn't get blown off on one of the thrill rides my DS6 is "making" me do! :thumbsup2

I think I may make a t-shirt with a big lime Mickey head on it that says "DIS" or similar. I was browsing the "Creative DISigns" forum for some t-shirt ideas and saw several like this. I figure you can't miss a lime green Mickey head slapped all over the back of a t-shirt, and then I'll just wait and see if anyone approaches ME!

I'll be the short brunette who just turned 40, bouncing around like Tigger with a big silly grin on my face because I'm finally at WDW, with DH and 3 DSs just slightly removed from my presense in case mom does something REALLY embarrassing!.... :rotfl:

I was there last Sept and met a fellow DISer while in line at Chef Mickeys. We're going again this year - 9/13-19, staying at Pop. I will be putting a lime green Mickey in our hotel room window. And I have one on our backpack that we put on the back of my DH's wheelchair; and I usually put one on my fannypack. Feel free to stop and say Hi if you see us! :wave2:

We wore lime green Mickey buttons last year. Only one person recognized those.... a cashier CM on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom.

However, about five different people recognized us from our trip last year by the picture in my signature. I'm kinda hard to miss :rotfl:
