Especially with the shopping cart scanners now, you put your bags in the shopping cart, as you shop you scan the item and pack it in the bag-nice and easy, no need to unload the cart at the end! I can easily seperate the food into bags depending on where in the house it goes- frozen all together, downstairs pantry in one bag- makes unpacking at home SO easy!
OT: I never heard of that. Very cool! However, wouldn't the store be concerned about theft? I would imagine some people stick an extra item or two in a bag without scanning it. If multiple people do that, the profit margin goes down. Maybe I just don't have a lot of faith in people being honest nowadays.
As for the original question. I use my Publix bags everywhere (Target, Walmart, fruit market, Whole Foods, library, etc). I also have a tiny fold up bag I keep in my purse for times like yesterday when I was running into the store to get one item and ended up buying six things.
DH humors me. "A bag is a bag is a bag" is his motto, but he just rolled his eyes when I came home with the Kroger bags. He helped me put the groceries away - that's all that really matters.
