Green Mouse Heads from Home Depot

I have 2 extras if anyone would like them. PM me and I'd be happy to send them along. I also picked up 2 of many other colors for scrapbooking so if anyone needs a different color I may be able to part with some. I was so proud of my scrapbooking idea then I read this thread and realized that it wasn't so original after all!

Thanks everybody for being so eager to help out fellow DISers. That is what these boards are all about---helping each other! You are all great and I would love to meet each and every one of you someday! Hopefully at WDW, right?

I went on the weekend and they had tons of the lime "alien" green :p I was so happy! I grabbed a bunch of them plus a couple extra. (let me know if you need one) I also grabbed a couple other colours for my scrapbook ... I was really hoping to grab a white one, but they were all out :p

How are you planning to use the paint swatches? Are you just going to cut them out and stick them on knapsacks, fanny packs etc?

We went this weekend but our HD was out of alien green so I'm improvising. I found a color swatch to almost match the alien green, then I peeled the Mickey Head off of the other swatch and traced it on the green I found. Cut it out, used clear packaging tape to "laminate" it and used the self adhesive pin backs I found at Walmart to be able to pin them where I want. My DH also made one for me with my screen name on it using the paint on the computer. He's so talented and sweet. I'm probably gonna pin mine on my backpack and on my shirt. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Cindy'sCastle

Your husband is a sweetheart to do that for you. I don't think my husband would do that for me. I can't complain though bc when we first met he was not into Disney at all. Now it is the only place we go on vacations and he even bought a timeshare in Orlando.

Congrats have a wonderful honeymoon.

I will be on the search for the alien green paint chips in Northern California.

Hoping to pick some up before our last minute August 8 to the 17th trip.

MandaMom-

I have a couple extra if you'd like them. Just pm me and I'll drop them in the mail.

Shari

Here's my idea for how to use them: I put one in the mesh pocket on the front of my backpack so it showed through (in addition to the lime green ribbons on it). I also wear a Passholder (from Passporter) around my neck to hold my pass and room key, and it has a clear pocket in front that's just the right size to hold the card with the green Mickey head. A lanyard with a clear plastic holder would also work. Unfortunately, we were there for 2 weeks and I never saw another one, and no one ever asked about mine either!

My DD & I have some extra Mickey Heads if anyone needs some. Just drop me a PM and I will send them on.

We did something similar to what Cindy's Castle did, except we used smaller paint swatches to make a smaller version with the pin backs.

For the full sized ones we made them into lanyard cards. So if anyone is going in Nov/Dec, be on the look out for us.

:jester: don't you just KNOW that those Home Depot paint department managers are scratching their heads and wondering just where all those lime green heads are going and more curiously WHY?!?!?!?!?!:jester:

After reading this thread (and others on Lime Green ribbons) I went on the hunt today!

I couldn't find any Lime Green ribbons at Target and Michael's so then I stopped at the Home Depot and pick up a couple of "Alien" Green Mickey heads. Not sure where I'll put them for our Nov/Dec trip, but I'll think of something!

My Home Depot doesn't have them. HumBug! If anyone would be kind enough to share, I'd gladly send a self addressed, stamped envelope. What a cool idea for luggage. I've always used the lime green ribbon but this is so much more fun. Please send an email or PM if you've got extra. Thanks, Nancy

Oh yeah, hadjiapso@aol.com !!!

If anyone just can't get them, let us know and those of us who CAN get them will PM you for your address. Just please do me a favor and let me know how your trip went when you get home!;)

this is too funny - about a month ago my FIL (who works at home depot) brought a bunch of all colors home and hung them up all over my kitchen cabinets! it was so funny. I took them down (after about two weeks of DH complaining) and then I put numbers on them to make a countdown calendar (by week) on my fridge!

only 21 more mickey heads to go!

I'm thinking about making luggage tags out of mine. My family is gonna kill me. They're already on countdown overload. I'm probably driving them all batty but I can't help it!! Any other cute ideas for the Mickey Heads?? Can't wait to get mine. Thanks Shari!!!! - Nancy:p

Okay, here's the deal. I have access (at my work) to a machine that cuts out shapes. I've purchased a 3" x 2"-ish Mickey shaped balloon die. I can cut out some in lime green card stock and will put in mail if you email me at work.
I used some on our last trip for luggage tags and I labeled my camera with a small one and my fanny pack in case I lost either of them. I actually typed our names, home address and where we were staying on property, so if I did become separated from my stuff maybe someone could get it back to me sooner.

Let me know if you would like a few-

Enjoy all your Disney days and nights!!

Yesterday, after reading this thread, I went to my local Home Depot and they were all out of the green mouse heads.

I just keep thinking "how many people are painting their homes with this color? Its got to be DISers. Didn't know there were so many living in Edison, NJ;) But isn't it great.

Anyway, today I went to another Home Depot and I found them. I'm so happy :)
Such little things make me happy - well anything Disney makes me happy!!

So, I'll be showing my lime green around the World in August! Hope to see some of you there.

and I do believe in the Tag Fairy!!:jester:

I posted this before but just in case you didn't see my post . . .

I wanted to share my DIS pin idea with everyone. I got the Alien Green Mickey ears from Home Depot (free). Then went to Michael's (craft store) and purchased Kelly's 3 1/2"Reusable Fun Buttons ($1.49 each) and one sheet of vine black decorative paper ($0.59). I cut black circles, glued the Mickey ears on top and inserted them inside the clear pin case. I made my own DIS pins and they look great!!

Annmarie

PS - If you need any Alien Green ears PM me. My HD just received a shipment!!!!

(bumpiing)

y'all finally got me motivated--went today to the Kemah store and did a happy ferret dance :)
