Greek yogurt is HUGE right now. Am I the only one who doesn't like it? I can see using it for a dressing or something like that, but the fruity ones you just eat out of the container are way too thick for me. Just wondering if I was the only one who feels this way.

i feel the same way. A co-worker loves it. I tried it after her suggestion and HATE it.
You are not alone.

I totally agree!! I use it as a coating for my baked chicken (sounds weird, but is actually really yummy when mixed with the right herbs), but that is it!! Way too thick to eat plain.

I love it, straight out of the container! :)

In the beginning, I added maple syrup to mine, about 1 tablespoon per cup of yogurt. The syrup helped thin it out a bit and also sweetened it, if the flavor is too tart for you.

I also use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream in recipes, or to top things like burritos, tacos, etc.

Greek yogurt (plain) makes a FANTASTIC low cal substitute for sour cream.

I like the stuff, it makes me feel fuller and less sugar-filled than regular yogurt does. My current favorite is the kids' version "Honey-nana" (honey and banana).

I love it! I use honey to thin it a bit, though. I also use it a a sour cream substitute...on baked taters, etc.

I like the ones that have the fruit mixed in, but I don't like the plain, even if I add fruit on my own. I like the higher protein levels and prefer Chobani.

You're not alone. My diet plan offered this up as an alternative for breakfast a couple of weeks ago so I was game and bought some. Blech!:crazy2: Maybe I will use what's left over in my protein smoothies in the morning, but eating it straight, no way!

Honey with cinnamon added to plain is very good. Include some chopped walnuts, almonds and dark chocolate chips for a great breakfast or anytime.

My suggestion is if you try one brand and don't like it, try another brand before deciding you don't like it at all. I love Fage and a few other of the organic brands. Tried the Yoplait kind and it was nasty. Tasted like chalk to me.

No, you're not the only one. I think it's disgusting, all gritty feeling in my mouth. I'm very sensitive to texture, so maybe it's just that. But i don't like regular yogurt or pudding all that much, for the same reason. Makes me feel like my mouth is all gummed up.

I love greek yogurt drizzled with some honey and topped with granola.

I didn't like it at first but it's kind of grown on me. I like the Chobani and Fage brands. I've tried other brands but didn't like them as well. I like that Fage has the fruit separate, if you like the ones with fruit. My favorite is the 2% with cherries. I mix in a little walnuts and Cascadian Farms dark chocolate almond granola as I can't eat them plain...yet.

Edited to add...

Now that I've been eating the Greek yogurt, I have a hard time liking the other yogurt...especially the fruit flavored ones.

I didn't like the Fage brand.I thought it was too gritty and tart. However, I love the Dannon brand.

I don't like regular yogurt---but LOVE this. It reminds me of a yogurt I used to eat when I lived in Spain in the early '90s.

To each their own, but I am really glad to have found a yogurt that I actually enjoy!

I love my Greek Yogurt. I eat a Chobani (Strawberry, Raspberry, or Lemon) for lunch every day. I love that something so healthy tastes so good!

I also use it as a sour cream sub.

Can't stand it either. I love yogurt and eat some everyday for lunch. But the Greek style is just way too thick for me.

I love the Dannon blueberry greek yogurt. I've tried a couple of brands I didn't like but have now settled with the Dannon brand. I don't like regular yogurt, either.

My son and I both like Greek yogurt mixed with fruit, granola, etc. Neither of us like it plain.

But, as another poster said, try different brands. I really don't like the Yoplait, but like the Stonyfield Oikos, and the Cabot Vanilla Bean one.

My favorite brand is Oikos. Love their strawberry! I don't like things that are overly sweet, so it's perfect for me. Chobani is fine if Oikos isn't available, but I prefer Oikos because of the lower sugar content.
