I love yogurt, always have. My brother recommended I try Greek yogurt- no fat and a lot less sugar. I don't like things that are overly sweet. Greek yogurt is thick and oh so good! :thumbsup2

Yummy!

Plus its high in protein and you can add onion soup mix and make a dip for chips at parties.

Reeeaaally!!?!? That sounds much better than sour cream, I may have to try that! I've always been leery of greek yogurt after reading just one rant about how disgusting one person thought it was  Maybe I'll bite the bullet and try it!

Depends what you brand you buy.

To me, some of the Greek Yogurts are disgusting. I like Fage and Chobani. I don't care for Oikos at all. Something about the taste. Basically, the plain Greek yogurt has the same flavor as regular plain yogurt, it is just much thicker/firm.

Greek yogurt is my new favorite food!

For breakfast almost every day, I alternate between eating either a cup of Chobani Greek yogurt or a Breakstone cottage cheese double.

I'm crazy about the pineapple, pomegranate, and honey flavors, but if the big container is on sale, I'll buy it plain and mix it with my own fruit.

I love the pineapple flavor also; however, in my stores the pineapple does not come in the non-fat version for some reason. Are you finding it in non-fat? It is quite a bit more calorically than the others because of this so I don't eat it regularly.

I don't know, Christine. For some reason, I thought all the fruit flavors came in only non-fat, but I could be wrong.

I've tried Oikos (organic) and Chobani. Oikos has the lowest sugar content, but it's kind of runny. I had Chobani's pineapple, which is low-fat. My favorite is still strawberry.:lovestruc

I thought that too and after the second or third container, I noticed the difference. For some reason, I can only get the pineapple in low-fat and not non-fat. I haven't recently checked the pomegranate but I think that one is non-fat.

I love Greek yogurt. My father is from Turkey and so I grew up eating Turkish/Greek yogurt. My favorite is the plain kind, no fruit, and we even put it on our lambchops (or any kind of lamb meat). It's so delicious that way.

I like the Oikos chocolate/vanilla mix yogurt.

Makes it kind of hard to go back to the other brands after you've had greek yogurt.

Does eating the Greek Yogurt remind anyone of the Seinfeld episode where they were eating the fat free yogurt and they all gained weight because they lied about the nutritionals?
This stuff is that good! I LOVE IT. I use some Emerald cocoa roasted almonds and and a couple of marischino cherries along with some vanilla and Splenda in mine and it is delicious. Last year when I went to WDW I was having withdrawl until I went to Publix and was able to find the Chobani.

NEVER EVER buy the Yoplait GY. IT IS beyond disgusting. I wrote them a letter telling them how horrible it was and what do they do...they send me coupons for free Yoplait. WHY would I want them when I hate the stuff.LOL

Can you buy this in a regular grocery store, or do you have to go to a specialty shop?

LOL on the coupon comment. My brother told me the same thing about Yoplait's GY. So, I figured there is no point in trying it.

Jazzie~ You can purchase it at any grocery story. Our closest Target has a limited food section and they carry GY.

I love Greek yougurt. My favorite way is to mix it with a touch of honey and granola for breakfast in the morning.

I also use it when I make tzatizki (cucumber yogurt sauce) for gyros or souvlaki sandwhiches.

Another fan of Chobani GY here - pineapple is now my new favorite! I ate Columbo non-fat Cherry Vanilla for years, but once Yoplait bought out Columbo, they discontinued all Columbo yogarts. I complained to Yoplait that I would never buy Yoplait yogurt because of discontinuing what had been a New England tradition for years so I was thrilled to find the Chobani brand; which I love even more than my Columbo!
