"Greedflation" at Disney?

2018 it was Banana Bread French Toast and was $15

Now it is Banana Bread Pudding and is $16
with inflation the way it's been, that's not so bad. They clearly wanted to keep a price point so they needed to change portions. Not as nefarious as you would want to believe

That's fairly nefarious.

I can also guarantee you the cost/portions of the food at Disney have not been raised only in alignment with inflation costs.

that could be, but as long as Disney is offering it, and someone is purchasing it there is no problem. I can't say this enough, Disney is not here to ensure your happiness or comfortability with pricing. They are a FOR profit business and as such, if they feel like they can raise prices to get a higher return on the goods they offer it is in their best interest to do so.

The only thing in my mind that should be protected from price increases like these are things like groceries, and some utilities, if you can live without it then they can charge whatever they want IMO

Inflation alignment or not? It's still cheaper to eat at Disney than where we live in CT and MA. Good luck finding a themed place like Space 220 that offers 3 courses for that low price.

Wow that is pretty crazy. I am not a sweet eater really.........so that second one would probably be plenty for me. I certainly see your point though.

I just don't see an issue with this. Disney isn't even allowed to change their menu without people talking them down about it. Ridiculous
I mean, its a difference of opinion. for my wife and i, when we started going in 2008, dining was a big part of our trips, they were fun, and the food was really good with decent portion sizes.

this is kind of a perfect example of how things have changed. I'm in the middle of planning a trip for next summer, I was going to do the dining plan for our family of 4, but i'm not going to attempt to justify spending $2600 on it. we're now cutting back on a lot of the sit down meals because they just arent any where near as good as they used to be, and are just too expensive to justify it.

One stable for us used to be Ohana, it was amazing. Its completely lack luster now.

Those are not the same dishes according to other posters on this thread. Does anyone have a picture of Before vs Current French toast?
That is the before French Toast and that other dish is called something else now. It may not have the same name, but that is what is now replacing the loss of the original French toast, even if they won't admit it.

It's not a fair comparison then. In order to prove "greedflation", we need to see the same dish along with the adjusted size and cost.
One was huge, we ate it twice. The other one is half the size. Anyone can see that.

It is the same ingredients but chopped up and put in a casserole type dish that can be kept warm on a warming tray or microwaved. The French Toast was likely made to order. It is obviously attempting to scratch the same exact itch.

Pretty fair comparison if you ask me. I also agree the portion size change for the same price is pretty ridiculous.

Yes, they are trying to scratch the same itch with half the product. But ok.
