We leave in the morning for Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg for a quick over night trip. I was just looking over the rules & it states that children 4 & under must wear swim diapers. Does anyone know if this is strictly enforced? If so I hope I can find the instock somewhere this time of year. Maybe they sell them onsite? DS 4 is going to be pretty upset if we have to make him put on a swim diaper. He'll swear we are trying to treat him like a baby, poor thing has been potty trained for years. Wish us luck!

Wow, I hope that is not the case. That seems SUPER strict. I don't think when my kids were 4, they would of gone for that.

Lol, when thinking of the preschoolers I teach, I don't think they would go for a swim diaper. For your sons sake, I hope they don't enforce that rule.

Maybe it should be 3 and under or for all children that are not potty trained. Goodluck!

The indoor water park in Erie PA definetly enforces this. We go there often for the day since we get a resident discount. Anyhow, I've seen multiple times where the rule has been pointed out to families. I am sure they'll sell them onsite.

Really? We were there last year when DS was 4 (and potty trained for like 2 years), and nobody made any mention of the rule (nor did I even see it listed anywhere there :confused3 )

I can't imagine that anyone would push the issue with a four year old who has been potty trained for a while now. Swim diapers aren't all that reliable with regard to contamination anyway. I guess it gives them a false sense of security. Before I would make a four year old wear diapers, I would lie about his age. He can be "almost five".

We go about 3-4 times a year- and we've seen it twice now where they've enforced it. The kids I've seen it enforced w/ were very obviously only 1-2 yrs of age. So, if a child looks close to 4 I don't know they'll say anything.

The diapers don't do the best of job "holding" things in--- but if someone did "poop" in the water they'd have to shut a lot down to filter/clean all the water. That would create some angry parents. Also-- I can tell you-- in 2004 after a visit to waterpark I mentioned-- I had an awful stomach "bug"-- or so I thought. After I got sicker and sicker it was determined that I had a parasite infection (after a lot of testing) -- most commonly found in community swimming pools. I will have to look up the name after work-- but it was awful. It lasted almost 6 weeks- until they found the right diagnosis and the right med. I honestly thought I was dying- I was so sick. It was the only "community pool" I was in in the prior 6 months so it had to be the culprit. So, there is a reason for the swim diapers-- I just don't know they really do their job.

No one said a word about the swim diapers. :sunny: We had a blast! :)
