I have lived here in the Pocono's pretty much all my life and can name lots of good restaurants. I have to say the "I'm from NY I know good food" attitude gets pretty old sorry. One word of advice, don't get the pizza from GWL, it's overpriced Pizza Hut.

I'm sorry, but I'm 8 miles out of NYC, went to ESU, and never found a decent restaurant, but that was 20 years ago, so maybe the food is better now.

I will admit East Stroudsburg is not the mecca of restaurants yet there are still some good ones. Tony's pizza? That place is a legend in the area, I have been to NY many many times, his pizza is just as good if not better. Stroudsburg has Molly's, Sarah Street, The Stroudsmoor, Sweet Creams. when you lived here Gracie's was still around, people flocked to that place. Johnnies ( pretty sure it was called that in Mt. Pocono somewhere) used to have famous people there all the time, I remember going there as a kid sitting next to the coach of Villanova basketball. Stone Bar anyone? My friend drools at the thought of some his dishes. Jubilee's on 940 is also really good. I hear there are lots of good places on 191, I don't head over that way but would like too. Some great places where I live about 15 miles from Stroudsburg. No, we don't have 100 restaurants in a 2 block radius, you have to drive to the places but there are plenty of good restaurants if you just look.
